The most frequent stories in the news at the moment are our “throw away culture” of one use, mainly plastic, items and diesel cars. This second story is of particular interest to me as I’m in the process of buying a new car and to be honest I’m feeling unsure of which fuel to buy. The car I want is diesel, but the mainstream media regularly says they will be banned from cities soon because of their contribution to air pollution. I pretty confident the emissions of any diesel car I get will be better than the one I’m replacing a it is 14 years old. My concern is whether I be able to drive to my job in the future, because it is in a city and there is no practical public transport option at the moment. Have you thought about replacing your car?

We have a similar dilemma! Our current car is diesel and 14 years old too and we will probably need to replace in the next few years. I would ideally love to switch to a electric car but they are way out of our price range!

We bought a diesel car. An electric car would have been good (especially if we install solar panels in future) but I decided getting a car with two additional seats in the boot was more useful at the moment.
