Education roundup – castle made of cookies, remembering the first world war &

Spring has sprung, the Easter holidays have started (mostly) and we are beginning to enjoy some sunshine – thank heavens!
This month I wanted to focus on how we can encourage our children to learn particular subjects at home,whether we home educate of just want to back up what is learnt at school.

So how have you helped your little ones understand the past? The London Mummy Blog is recommending that a visit to the British Museum might be worth it, their viking exhibition is free of charge, so if you can get there make use of an amazing place!

Time to craft has invented a wonderful way to explain ruined castles – with cookies! And Family of Four Fun went to the theatre for the children to learn about the first world war. Katie on Thin Ice has her Dad’s memories to share with her children, something maybe we should all be doing to put history into a personal context for a younger generation.
