Education Round-up: Rating systems for primary children

Here we are in the middle of the school holidays (unless you live in Scotland – sorry!) The sun is shining – mostly and we are hopefully all enjoying it while is lasts. But I guess our minds are always looking towards the new term, uniform purchases, stocking up on stationery and the excitement of new teachers, new things to learn and maybe even new friends to make!

Head in book is considering the impact of the proposed rating systems for primary children, Stressy Mummy is asking the same question should we always be comparing them to their peers?

Having children of school age certainly restricts when we can take a break, Crazy with Twins is talking about just this and the change in the law to stop people taking holidays in term time.

So as the queues at the school suppliers start building up and we look wistfully towards the new term and try to remember where we put the lunch boxes and PE kits back in July, I want to wish you a happy holidays everyone – enjoy the time with your little angels – it will be harvest festivals and nativity plays before you blink twice!
