Education Round-up: Teaching science

So how do we teach our little ones science? How do we encourage them to investigate and understand the world around them?

Well it seems that you lot have a million and one ideas and messy play activities to do just this! However for those of you looking for inspiration read on – I’ve found a wealth of posts and was genuinely spoilt for choice!

First up – making rain clouds in a jar – Activites 4 kids has come up with a wonderful way to explain weather to your little ones.

Just the way we want to is talking surface tension using milk to illustrate it and Education unfettered is looking at coins and their discolouration.

In the playroom has a whole host of experiments for your little darlings to do at home (I imagine mess, clutter and goo everywhere! – which is of course always as much fun for the adult as it is for the children – isn’t it?)

But of course no post about science and education would be complete without a mention of the wonderful and inspiring Science Sparks (and yes I am biased – because she is so lovely, and a proper real scientist and everything!) A whole site dedicated to making mess doing science with your little ones! And if anyone asks, no I have not tried some of them on my own at home… and I dare you to prove otherwise!
