Education Round-up: School choices & road trips

education round-upHere we are over half way through January already, three weeks into the first half term of 2016.  I don’t know if it’s just me, but once you become a parent to school aged children I swear life starts to fly by even quicker. I can’t believe I’m back already with my second BritMums Education Round-up.

This month I have seen a lot of talk on Facebook and Twitter about Primary school choices. Most deadlines for application forms fall at the end of this month, so its only to be expected that a few last-minute nerves are setting in. If you are still making a final decision on where you would like to send your children come September then this post from Not Another Mummy Blog on Choosing A Primary School is a must read, as it Who’s The Mummy’s post on Five Questions To Ask When Choosing A School.

On a personal note I’ve been reading a lot this month about educating your children through travel ahead of our USA Road Trip this summer (more on that at projectwanderlust.co.uk). This post from Unschool Me about how they Record Their Learning While Travelling was really interesting.

Finally, to cheer you all up on the week that started with ‘Blue Monday’ (allegedly the most depressing day of the year), here is a little something to put a smile on your face from Cardiff Mummy Says – 23 Things You’ll Understand If You’re A School Run Parent. I was laughing and nodding in agreement with many of these.

If you blog about education over the next month please so tweet me a link to @imalicelangley – I would like to focus more on Secondary Education in February, however please do send anything you want to share my way. I look forward to connecting with you all.
