Education Round-up: Exams, longer hours & tough teachers

education blog posts sliderThis month it would have been very easy for the whole roundup to be a long rant at Mr Gove and his proposed longer hours in school. But it has been talked about in other parts of Britmums so I’ve tried not to focus on it too much! But the words from Following the beat of the drum and Henry’s blog on the subject are well worth a read as are the others in the Longer school hours link up.

Milk with two gives us a wonderful insight into her views on the recent TV programme Tough Young Teachers – something I’ve yet to watch but will go an hunt on iplayer now!

A really good read I discovered this month was from Jobbing Teacher and the pit falls of joining the Governing body, something I’m glad to say I managed to avoid during my time as a school mummy!

And on a final note I’m afraid we are back to Mr Gove and his falling out with Ofsted. London Early Years Foundation have a opinion that I think worth reading!

So that’s me for this month – for next month I want to to set you all a challenge – Share with us all your best tips for preparing for exams! (or your comic exam stories!) For those with children in formal education we are getting towards the exam season and it would be wonderful to pool our collective knowledge. Add them to the link up below and I’ll try and feature some of them in next months round up!
