Well, it’s nearly June, but the weather doesn’t seem to realise that, flitting from hot sunshine to wind and rain in the blink of an eye.
So I’ve been on the look out for crafts both to do indoors, and to take outdoors and some that cross-over both!
Here’s what I’ve found for your perusal…
I’ve been loving joining in with Red Ted Art’s weekly craft hangouts over on G+. Each week she give a prompt of a crafting material, and a group of craft bloggers get together online to share ideas. Last week it was crafting with felt and I joined in with my simple to sew felt mice.
The hangouts take place each Tuesday evening usually at 8.30pm so do join
Maggy on Google + and watch live, or catch up on Youtube later. This week will be all about craft sticks (that’s lolly sticks to you and I).
Thinking ahead to Father’s Day, I love this idea by
Mother Geek, who shows us step-by-step how to create an art canvas. It’s a really great idea for kid’s of any age and even the very youngest can create a work of art with finger painting.
A great idea for a rainy day from
Craftulate – create a paper maze to break through, or maybe carefully negotiate Mission Impossible stylee. On warmer days this would be great to take out into the garden too and make amongst the trees.
If you are stuck indoors, Thinly Spread has a fabulous idea for recreating a bit of the outdoors indoors – and even better, it’s edible! Check out her
pond jelly – fabulous for parties.
Another great edible craft, and one which I suspect would take outdoors very well, is this awesome
homemade edible paint by Faerie Fly Savings Momma. We all know how paint gravitates towards little mouths, so why not take out the worry and the stress and make it safe to eat.
And finally, I have to mention this
amazing patchwork quilt tutorial series by Jenny. Week by week she has been sharing the step-by-step process to make a gorgeous quilt and it’s absolutely top of my to-do-list.
