Changing your mind is often considered a bit meh. Not the done thing. I don’t understand why. Some days I’m full of the joys of spring and some days I’m knackered and grumpy and as such, cannot guarantee a consistent response. My attitudes vary, my opinions are swayed. I often change my mind, it might be a slightly subtle shift or a big whopping revision. I recently listened to Lily Allen being interviewed, she was uncompromising: “I reserve the right to change my mind”. I like that. A lot.
There have been a some changes in the community in the past while. Spaces have been re-organised. New names and for others new directions. Change is definitely in the air. You may or may not have noticed or perhaps you have and it’s a little unsettling. Not everyone likes change.
Change isn’t for everyone, I use various images on my blog and have done for a while, I’ve no intention of altering them. In that respect, I am the same. However, other elements of my blog do adjust. My blog is an extension of me, a reflection. A space to call my own. It has evolved as I’ve evolved. Almost four years in blogging is a long time. Two years blogging makes an experienced veteran. If blogging years are like dog years, then almost 4 years of blogging makes me, a medium sized mixed breed (as I like to consider myself) about 35 years (according the the Pedigree Chum calculator, other dog year calculators are available). That’s a long time, my 20’s self was different to my 30’s self.
There are those that like to move the furniture around often, while others like the familiar. When, for a while, I had a blog theme I didn’t like, it was an irrational irritation. The prospect of installing a new theme was akin to moving the glass cabinet alone. Bound to end in disaster. While, it wasn’t right, I didn’t want to spent time on my blog, eventually someone came to my rescue, fixed it and I was back in my happy place.
Blogging is a constant subtle shift of development. We learn new skills, our audience grows, we use more photos, our children get older and our focus is modified, our writing improves, we review more, we review less etc. etc.
We all love discovering great new blogs. We are creative, in various senses of the word, we create different content, different ideas, we find different angles, even in how we simply record the everyday. We enjoy sharing something different or new, it is a constant process of change.
It is what keeps blogging vibrant, interesting. It is why the Financial Times recently featured parent bloggers. It is what makes the community fantastic influencers. We are bloggers: We reserve the right to change our minds, because we are fantastic.

I've set up my blog recently and have gotten it looking quite alright, but there are still lots of changes I need to do before it is complete looks-wise. Very time-consuming!!
Itching to write more about our life as a working mum/sahd couple and share more photography but balancing it with fiddling the layout tricky sometimes :)

blog/life balance is a continuing problem for a lot of bloggers. You are not alone. You will get to a point where it looks as you want it to and then it's just a case of finding a balancing. The technical/layout side is always tricky but it gets easier, you learn as you go along. Good luck

My blog is always evolving too and I love to tweak the layout. Can be a tad frustrating while you're working out just how to achieve exactly what you want - but it's always worth it in the end.

I tend to think that blogs grow and change as the people who write them. Sometimes, they are happy with the way they are and other times they change them as they go along and sometimes, there is a mass realisation that something either has GOT to change or has changed so much that a complete assessment is needed lol!

You're so right; change is what I think I embrace but sometimes, if I'm honest, change is just too difficult - l love the idea of the upheaval of change being like moving the glass cabinet. Embrace change, that's what I say and changes within blogs and the way blogs influence traditional media is something that I'm very excited about. Thnx for the post #Britmums

I think we all slowly change, particularly within blogging, without appreciating it, we are constantly embracing change, it's big changes we shy from a little, but I think bloggers are very good at change.
