Celebrating the royal baby!

Today’s announcement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is wonderful news – a baby boy!

I remember back in 2013 when Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge stood on the steps of the Lindo Wing, to show off her new son. The excitement for a royal baby and the whole ‘door watch’ as news channels focused their cameras at the Lindo Wing, awaiting an impending showcase. I was tuned into Sky News that afternoon, as they were the outlet that had the continuous coverage!

Meghan and Harry have done things a little differently – taken their own way, especially announcing the birth on Instagram! But no matter how it is announced, the nation’s excitement is the same, a beautiful new life has come into this world – Harry and Meghan’s first child and another addition to the royal family.

To celebrate this exciting news, no doubt the nearest and dearest family and friends will buy the baby gifts. So I wanted to share some of my favourite baby gifts at the moment, because there are some lovely things out from Beatrix Potter Gifts By Enesco.

Peter Rabbit plush

Perfect for a baby, this beautiful Peter Rabbit plush will be a well loved bedtime pal, made for cuddles and wonderfully soft. Peter Rabbit is everyone’s favourite bob-tailed bunny and this is sure to be a favourite toy.

money box

Another traditional gift is a money box. What better way to mark the birth of a new baby than with this Beatrix Potter ceramic money bank in the style of one of Beatrix Potter’s classic books?

bamboo dinner set

Thinking ahead, these simple yet stylish bamboo dinner sets are perfect for the weaning stage and would make a thoughtful Christening gift. Available in the style of Peter Rabbit and Flopsy, featuring artwork taken from the original illustrations from the Beatrix Potter stories, these bamboo dinner sets are presented in a gift box.

We know that the Royal Family are huge fans of Beatrix Potter, because when Prince George was born, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decorated his nursery in a Peter Rabbit theme. So perhaps the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby will also grow to love Beatrix Potter as many children before have.

Today’s announcement is wonderful and I would like to wish new mum Meghan and her husband Harry many congratulations on their thrilling news.
