Positively Inspirational Round-up

Positively Inspirational Round-up

inspiration round upAll change! You may notice that today is normally the day you would see the Reviews round up here on the BritMums blog but I have to be honest and say that I had lost my mojo for reading review posts.  Yes they are useful, both for the reader and for the writer in terms of some lovely opportunities and products you might not otherwise get to try out but there was only so far I could take it. So I approached the lovely BritMums blog editor, Mari and asked if I could change the focus for my round up onto something more me….

….and here I am with the monthly round-up of all things lovely in the parenting blogosphere. I’ll bring you posts to make you feel inspired, ones that will make you smile and just generally anything that lifts your mood and takes you onto a journey into the positive side of life.

I had my theme but then I needed a name and that is where the superb Pippa came in, she has suggested ‘Positively inspirational’ as the name for this round up and I think that is just perfect, so thank you Pippa.

Where to start?  I have truly had an enjoyable few days jumping around blogs and reading loads of wonderful uplifting posts, here are a few that I really enjoyed –

A touch of everyday magic..

Over at Mummy Limited I enjoyed a post called Everyday Magic; it is a really simple post that perfectly sums up some of life’s little pleasures.  There are some great images and I love the way Mummy Limited talks about herself, she says she is ‘an everyday sort of girl…. who loves the minutiae of life…. finding the good in the everyday things that make a life and a life that is rich and full’. She sounds like my kind of girl.

Memories of home…

The writer of the next post, Crystal Jigsaw is an established blogger and I only have to visit her blog to feel good, her header picture changes regularly with wonderful images of her Northumberland farm and it is always so pleasing to the eye.  In this post she talks us through her favourite part of the weekend visiting her Mum and it will make you go ahhh.

The truth about dieting…

It’s the time of year where many people are on a diet or just trying to shift a few pounds and the next post is a must read if this is you.  Natasha at the 1970’s diet is a no-nonsense kind of lady and I love that about her.  She believes that if we all ate in the same way as we did in the 1970’s then we would not be fat like we are now!  I reckon she has a point…

Amazing advice…

Gemma at Yes we do have a TV turned 29 last week, so a very happy belated birthday to her.  She takes us through what her 20’s have been like and how she has found her niche in life but she also shares with us some extraordinary advice and it really made me smile.  I feel I need to take it on board! Go and look….

Open your eyes…

Next up is Dorky Mum, she is one of my blog crushes and a super fine writer. In this post she shares with us what can happen when you  veer off your regular path, she found herself enjoying beauty in areas she did not know where there. Don’t you just love those walks when you go out and appreciate every little thing that you see?  I sure do.

It’s not all tears and sadness…

A new blogger, Becky at Munchies and Munchkins tweeted me a link to one of her recent posts where she recounts the time her and her other half travelled to The Gambia to work as part of the Wonder Years Centre of Excellence charity. The story she tells is of children who have nothing in the way of worldly goods but who are full of joy and are content. Brilliant, those are the kind of stories that are great to read and I know that ONE.org is keen to present the true positive stories of those who live in Africa.

Coming home…

I’ll leave you with a delightful post that takes you through the joy of coming home. It does not sound as if it has been an easy year for Keris of Those 24 little hours blog but she has learnt a lot about herself and discovered she can ride the storm.

I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I did and feel lifted and just a little bit more cheery.  Talking of being cheery, come and join in with me each week for my Reasons to be Cheerful linky.  It makes the world of difference to count your blessings, even in the hard times. There are a hard-core group of us joining up every Thursday and we love newcomers.

Also, don’t forget to link up any posts that you have written that fit with the inspirational, positive and generally happy theme of this round up.

Be blessed, Mich x

About Michelle Pannell

Mummy from the Heart is the fourth baby of Michelle, a 46 year old (manic) mother living in East Sussex. Having moved to the countryside and ‘retired’, Michelle can now be found eating too much cake and taking long walks. She lives life on the bright side and looks for the joy in every situation, even the excess pounds those cakes keep adding! Michelle’s blog is a very honest place where she shares tales of imperfect parenting, being a Christian digital activist and anything else that takes her fancy.

Love the idea of positive writing that is inspirational. I have a sub folder in my Google Reader called "positive" with all the blogs I follow that I know will lift my spirits when I most need it. They, quite simply, make me smile!
