Good Reads - BritMums

This week, as Karin is on holiday (we’re not in any way jealous! not at all! sob!) the good reads are brought to you by Holly.

It’s great to get my sticky fingers on this post for one week, as it’s really made me rummage around the new BritMums site and sink into a serious reading session.

So, without further ado, here are this week's BritMums Good Reads:

Prepare for actual mouth waterage, with these incredible looking Sundried Tomato, Herb and Cheese Spiral Buns from Utterly Scrummy.
Clare Kirkpatrick of Free Your Parenting rejects the word ‘naughty’ when it comes to children, and she explains why a child she recently helped was actually in need of something beyond punishment.
This week’s theme for The Gallery is animals, and I couldn’t resist drawing attention to the story of Ben and Coco the Chihuahua – prepare to melt.
And for something completely different, Not The Tiger Mum unearthed some very tiny creatures in her front garden.
Inspired by a similar post from Laughing Housewife Sacha from braindribbles has put together a wickedly funny post on the bizarre search terms that have led people to her blog. Microwave phobia, anyone?
Here’s one we must all recognise, with Nearly Perfect Mother’s hilarious confession that ‘I can’t take me anywhere’. The milk stains and fruit purée hair were bad enough, but the inappropriate t-shirt is a hilarious step too far.
With the school holidays creaking to a halt, the summer activity budget coughing it’s last, it’s fantastically helpful to read about crafty ideas that don’t cost a bean. And in the case of Shell Louise’s girls, the scrapbooking session was a real triumph.
If you’re one of the many women who have been mistaken for pregnant (as I was at Malaga airport following a particularly indulgent holiday and in an unfortunate dress) or perhaps mistaken for being overweight when you’re actually expecting, A Working Mum’s post – 'Fat, pregnant or both?' is well worth a read.
