MBPW“Let the sunshine in, let the sunshine in, the sunshine…”

I imagine all of you that have broken up have been out and about enjoying this fabulous weather this week? We are still at school but we’ve had a great sports day, a fabulous school trip and lots of birthday fun too as the twins turned six.

As on every birthday that comes around, I tend to reflect on the past year and take note of the good, the bad and the ugly. This year was no exception and the good is we have done lots together as a family, we’ve been places, tried new things and had lots of fun. The bad is I sometimes can’t say NO and this leads me to taking on too much and consequently fretting to get it all done, does this happen to you too? The ugly is the amount of stress I create for myself for this very reason.

So after reading a fabulous link from a fellow blogger friend, thank you Michelle, I have decided to step down over the summer. I, along with many other bloggers I have spoken to, am going to put my children first and write when I feel like it.

Their sixth birthday has made me realise that time is flying by, if I close my eyes a moment they’ll be turning 18 and I will have missed the best years, so although it’s not the New Year I have set myself a resolution to organise myself differently and put family first. I think this has been along time coming and it’s most likely because I am not used to working freelance, add to that Facebook, Twitter and every other distracting social media, I’m going to have to be very tough on myself.

How about you? Are you better at coping than me? What are your top tips?

Time to decide which of this week’s work is My Best Post of The Week?

I have two that I want to share for very different reasons, the first is my wine tasting tips as I am so excited to have been selected as a Sunshine Ambassador. If you were at BritMums Live you may have passed by this stand to try some of their fabulous wines too.

The second post is a fascinating tale, a spooky tale, a magic tale. The story of a man who bought a house and completely changed it until not one single square inch was the same. There is much much more to it and if you take a look I know you’ll be hooked, read all about Talliston House

I also wondered what the BritMums team have been scribbling this week? So I went and had a look …

Jen has been writing about one of my favourite places in London, the Southbank

Susanna has been celebrating the Great British seaside

and Kate has been talking about the Hairy Legs Club she has a point, what’s your view?

Link your #MBPW below and have a wonderful weekend

Good for you Mari! I too have been tying myself up in knots a bit, trying to cram more and more posts in, planning, emails, social media etc. It doen't do us any harm to take it slower i think, so this summer, I want to have time to actually do nothing. I find that I get my best, creative ideas when I'm relaxed!

We have also been making the most of the sunshine. Good move for putting your children first this summer. I only post 3 times a week, but I think I will also slow down to make sure I enjoy every minute with my little ones!
