Depending what time you read this I could be splashing all over your social media today – you’ve been warned.
Today it is my task to get the #teamhonkrelay baton over to Southend in Essex from my hometown of Gravesend in Kent. I shall be cycling the majority of the way – 17 miles to be precise and Instagram -ing my way as I do. I’m starting off from Stanford le Hope at around 11am just when the traffic is really getting congested (why make it easy?) and finishing at Southend Pier.
Thankfully I have been training in the gym and on the bike for a couple of weeks so I am feeling fairly confident and in my favour, the last 4 miles are along the seafront, nice and flat and smooth. The Southend girls, Cas from Mummy Never Sleeps and Jamillah from Bare Beginnings, will be waiting at the entrance to the Pier for me to hand the baton to them and off it will whizz through Essex and beyond.

As for My Best Post of The Week, I’m changing track and moving on to books and my question for you is ‘Which book did you read as a child that opened your eyes and imagination to the wonderful world of reading?’
One of the very first books that did that for me was The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton and I have thoroughly enjoyed revisiting it with the girls over the past couple of months – it’s a trilogy and we read a chapter per night.

Although I didn't choose it as my best post I've just posted about this insightful book on Dyslexia. So uplifting as the authors see it not as a disability but as an advantage!
