With Christmas fast approaching it’s now all about the parties. Whether it’s a works Christmas party in a fancy hotel, a gathering of friends at the local village pub, a carvery with family, or the inevitable New Years Eve “do”, they all require a higher level of beauty preparation than I am ordinarily used to.
In particular, the party ‘look’ is particularly strong on the eyes. My usual muted brown tones, to gently even out the skin tone over my eye lids rather than to actually draw attention to the area, is just not going to cut it.
So it’s off to refresh the eye make-up, and for starters that means new palettes.
The No.7 Eye Appeal Eyeshadow palette is doing it for Mamanclarke, especially as its available in the usual pre-Christmas three for two offer at Boots. Yummy on all counts.
Over at Confessions of a Secret Shopper Louise is waiting with bated breath for the release of the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. Those tones do look tempting. Urban Decay are on a lot of Christmas lists this year, and Emma at Handbags to Change Bags includes the Naked Palette 2 in a her ultimate Christmas Gift guide. Definitely worth a look to get some ideas. Us mums need to multi-task Christmas shopping with beauty prep you know.
At Glitz and Glamour Kathy is trying out the Rimmel Glam Eyes HD Golden Eye Palette. This is a great Christmas party look with real sparkle.
Belle du Brighton has tried out the Sleek Vintage Romance Palette. Though she effortlessly works this look I definitely would look like I’d been punched if I attempted these colours, so this is one for the experienced eye shadow experts among you!
For Bex at Futures it’s all about the tools of the trade. The Nanshy Eye Brush set contains 7 brushes and has one extra advantage. Check out the review to find out what. Ooo… don’t you must love the suspense.
Superdry’s Pop Eyes Palette has won Glam Rosie over. Not only do you get 9 shades for your very reasonable £15, it’s bright and stocking filler worthy.
So that little lot should keep us all going for at least some of those parties. Shouldn’t it?
