Allergies: When your child has allergies

Allergies: When your child has allergies

Over on my blog Dilan and Me I spend a lot of time writing about my experiences of my son’s cow’s milk protein and soya allergies. This week I’ve been sharing our experiences of breastfeeding with CMPA and our dairy free journey so far, and hearing from so many mums who have been happy to hear that they aren’t alone.

Eczema and babies

Laura over at Little Ladies Big World has been looking back on having a newborn with eczema and allergies and how stressful a time it was for them as they discovered new allergies and triggers.  This is such a beautiful post and Laura and her family have been through so much, a lovely read and really eye opening for those who might not have experienced severe allergies like this.

How to teach children about food allergies

Emma from Free From Farmhouse features some great resources and posts about their family’s experiences of a variety of allergies. I love this post about teaching children about their food allergies. This is a really daunting task for any parents of kids with allergies but Emma has some fun ideas and resources to help.

Coping as an allergy mum

Since Mother’s Day is coming up I loved this old post from Dairy Free Kids: 10 reasons allergy mums deserve a pat on the back. This is a really relatable post pointing out lots of things that allergy parents often have to do or go through, and giving them the recognition they deserve for it. A lovely post, thank you Laura!

I also enjoy this really lovely post from Chloe from The Adventures of an Allergy Mummy, about the perks of being an allergy parent. Experiencing allergies is really tough, watching your child go through those experiences is even tougher, but there are plenty of silver linings too and Chloe lists some of the positive things food allergies have brought her.

What to do about a cow’s milk allergy

Nyomi from Nomipalony has a really informative post about her experiences with her son’s cow’s milk protein allergy. She’s included loads of useful information and resources for any parents going through a similar situation so it’s definitely worth checking out, and I love the positive thinking tips she’s included.
