Family Days Out Round-up: November fun

It has been a busy few weeks for us with firework displays to enjoy and now we are starting to look ahead to Christmas.

If you have little ones at home, choosing the right festive experience is vital and some of the bloggers in our network have put together some great suggestions for Christmas Days out.
Where to go for some Festive Fun
TinBox Traveller has a comprehensive post of Christmas Events to visit all over the UK, Flying with a baby has some great recommendations for Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland, Little Bird has a recommendation for 50 things to do with the kids in London this Christmas and over on my blog Are We Nearly There Yet, there is the Big Christmas Days Out link-up for you all to join with your own recommendations.

Some of you have managed to get out for some Christmas magic already and we got to meet the big man himself at Christmas at Marwell Zoo, The MummySphere headed to Waddesdon Manor to see it come alive with Christmas magic at its Light Festival, Lilinha Angel’s World has been having fun at London’s Winter Wonderland, Welsh Mummy Says enjoyed Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland and Yorkshire Wonders visited Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland and York Museum Gardens for some festive fun.

Christmas Markets are always a good call this time of year, with fun activities for the kids and unusual presents and decorations on offer. Wandermust Family has been checking out Manchester Christmas Market, but if bit of culture is what you are after, Geffrye Museum is currently holding its Christmas Past and Present exhibition, the Alexander Theatre in Birmingham is hosting the musical Miracle on 34th Street which Momma Mack enjoyed, or head to your local National Trust venue, like Mottisfont, like Life of Spicers did and enjoy their Christmas displays.

If, however, you are trying to avoid the “C” word until at least December, there are plenty of places to visit all around the country.

We have been working on Eliza’s school project on the Great Fire of London, so headed into the city to take a Big Bus Tour to find Pudding Lane and made the 311 step climb to the top of the Monument, which is well worth it for the views. Over40MumtoOne travelled in the same direction to explore the Tower of London with her son, My Boys Club has been checking out the Pioneers of Pop at the Hatton Gallery and Truly Madly Kids headed out of the city to try out the i360 in Brighton.

If fresh air is more your thing, My Boys Club has some great suggestions for family walks in Northumberland, Flying with a Baby has been exploring Grimsthorpe Castle, Newcastle Family Fun have been enjoying the Sunderland Illuminations and North East Family Fun have been out exploring North and South Shields on the Metro.

Juggling on Roller Skates has also been to Marwell, but to see the animals rather than Santa, They Grow So Quick found some spooky fun at Brodsworth Hall. and The Mummy Sphere has been making the most of the windy weather and has been off kite flying at Dunstable Downs.
