Home and Design Round-up: Home style on a budget

homeanddesignHello and welcome to another roundup of gorgeous Home and Design posts from around the parent blogging community. I’ve loved the variety of posts that I’ve seen this month, from budgeting makeovers to garden style and new home interiors. So without further ado, let’s crack on and take a look shall we?

I’m always on the lookout for blogs writing home related posts and I’m thrilled this month that many of our featured blogs aren’t those that you would necessarily associate with home or interior posts. I’ve also noticed the great range of budget related posts and this is what we’re mostly going to focus on this month.

I’m loving the Home Makeovers on a Budget over at Family Budgeting. Just see what a fab job Becky’s done with her son’s bedroom. I’m also loving Lulastic’s gorgeous rainbow chalkboard wall which looks really modern, is functional and is made on a budget. Maggy at Red Ted Art has created wonderful cereal box frames for displaying kids’ artwork and I know we’re all in need of these!

Crazy Kitchen has found some beautiful china for an afternoon tea get together and Baby Budgeting has done it again with another fabulous upcycling post. This time she’s looking at how you can upcycle a chair. Taking things out into the garden Missie Lizzie has a lovely Magpie Monday post on garden pots and Modern Country Style has made hers from newspaper – and aren’t they gorgeous!

In the current economic climate you have to find ways to save the pennies when you’re doing up your home. Do you think you could make over your hallway for £5? Well Tidy Away Today did just that! Sarah has made a very cute embroidered pegboard ideal for a wall or side display and Mum of All Trades has reviewed a lovely set of bunting. Sarah has found an old Singer sewing machine; a fabulous vintage piece of furniture! All beautiful and stylish ideas that won’t break the bank.

But I do feel for Violet Posy this month who’s discovered a not so cheap re-wiring issue in her home. There is only so much you can do on a budget and sometimes you do have to dig deep for the bigger jobs.

And finally I’d like to leave you with some posts from my trip to the Ideal Home Show with Alexander Residence and The Ana Mum Diary. You must take a peek if only to discover the new Del Boy and Rodney and some very white teeth!

Thanks for reading, and let me know if you’ve written something homes related recently; I’d love to have a read.
