Unsurprisingy, our children’s art is often inspired by the seasons and school topics. Christmas brings snowmen and glittery trees. Halloween brings spooky pumpkins and this year saw many inspired by the Olympic and Jubilee events. Some children take their inspiration from artists like Picasso and Van Gogh.

Then there is the medium. As well as drawing freehand with crayons and paints, hand, foot and potato prints are popular. And fittingly for a group of bloggers’ children, many do art on mobiles and iPads.

We love seeing them progress from baby scribbles to characters with features to A-Level art. Their pictures brighten up our homes and our moods, not to mention our refrigerator doors — a universal spot to display artwork.
