Video Round-up: Holidays, back to school & how NOT to vlog!

Hi! I’m super thrilled to become part of the team of Britmums Round-Up Editors. Thank you so much for having me and to Lisa for letting me jump straight in and join her! I’m new to vlogging but have surprised myself with how much I’m enjoying it – heaps of enthusiasm at the moment and learning all the time! I have three teens so my vlogs are general chats about teen issues and better parenting this tricky stage, though some of my vlogs can be more relatable to other ages too. My latest vlog is a chat with my oldest about bullying so definitely not just a teen issue. You can see this one here.

So, on to the round-up! As this was my first, I didn’t have a theme. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to expect with my first round-up so I just put a quick message out there on the UK Vlogging Club group on Facebook and on twitter and was inundated with so many fabulous posts. Now you’ve made it so hard for me to choose! However, there were a few that really stood out to me that I wanted to share … so here goes.

The first I’d like to feature is from Lisa Lum and her day in the life vlog. Lisa has so much energy and positivity that she is a joy to watch. Loved it Lisa and I’m looking forward to more like this!

There were also lots of videos shared with me about summer activities but two that I particularly enjoyed were from Jessica Ashe and Lisa Marie Makin who both shared vlogs of their trip to Delamere Forest. It really made me want to don the wellies and get outside with the children. Great soundtracks to both and super video skills. I’m super impressed and learnt lots from these so thank you.

Another summer holiday vlog that has to get a mention here is from Nadine Hill, JuggleMum – a collection of wonderful vlogs from her Carnival Cruise highlighting the fun to be had on these super ships – what a party!

Now, a September round-up would not be complete without some back to school vlogs. The first that I’d like to feature is from Nati Johnston with a beautiful montage of her son Blake’s first day at school … just adorable footage, Nati, I hope Blake continues to enjoy it!

Another vlog with a back to school theme but from a different perspective is from Lisa Hodson. Lisa speaks very openly about her chronic fatigue illness and I just cannot imagine how hard each day must be for you. If I lived nearer I’d be popping round with coffee and cake and a helping hand – you really do cope so well. Watch her vlog here to listen to her brave story and for others going through this, you really have my sympathy.

Now, as a very new vlogger (have I mentioned that already?!) I was really interested watching Jules Pau’s vlog on toddler and mummy’s favourites. Not only because Jules is so watchable and chatty (and her son is adorable too!) But she talks about other vloggers to watch. Thank you Jules, I have taken note and will be subscribing later!

Oh so many gorgeous vlogs I’ve watched with babies too. Thank you so much for sharing them with me but one that I really enjoyed was from the lovely Fi at A Mum Track Mind. Fi sent me the most gorgeous video of her and her daughter Sophie all about their daily routine. Now I’m completely out of touch with the whole baby stage now that my three are teens but this is such a wonderful chatty and happy video with Sophie being one of the most happiest and smiliest babies I think I’ve ever seen! Fi is a pleasure to watch so if you aren’t familiar with her channel go and have a look!

Now, for something a little different and it really won’t disappoint! Emma from Island Living 365 sent me her vlog on how not to vlog and has to be one of the funniest things I have watched ever! Emma is naturally hilarious but also so engaging to watch – you must pop over for a watch and a giggle. Trust me, you will love her!

And finally, oh my word, this blew me away with its absolute gorgeousness. I tweeted channel mum and asked if they would recommend any vlogs that they had watched recently that could be considered for this round-up and they pointed me in the direction to this one from Emily Norris It’s her birth story of her third little boy, Jackson. It is such a beautiful, heartfelt vlog that just had me sobbing …. oh and feeling broody all over again! This is an absolute must watch!
