It’s the holiday staple on every Christmas table, and the time to start making it is now! Our #XmasBake Twitter party is all about baking your own Christmas cake – start early with a good recipe and the right equipment and you can easily create the classic Christmas treat.

Come tweet your tips and challenges when making a Christmas cake on Tuesday 14 October from 13:00 – 14:00 BST. You could win 1 of 10 £20 Currys PC World shopping vouchers and 1 lucky winner get a Kenwood Chef KM331!

The party is sponsored by Currys PC World, where you can find all the mixers, bowls, cake tins, and utensils you need. The 18th and 19th October, the Big British Baking Weekend, is pinpointed as the perfect time for people to start baking their Christmas cakes. Rachel Allen, working with Currys PC World, talks you through why, gives you top tips, and tells you how to avoid a soggy bottom this Christmas on their site.

Research shows 1 in 5 people would be willing to buy a Christmas cake and pass it off as homemade to impress people (say it ain’t so!) and a third of Brits don’t think they would be able to make a Christmas cake*.

Come along for tips, advice and resources for getting started now and doing it yourself this year!
