Travel Round-up: Latest trips abroad

travelLast month’s round-up was packed full of suggestions for days out in the UK. This time, we are travelling further afield, leaving this island of ours and seeing what’s on offer abroad.

Taking to the waters just off our British shores, Sally from Who’s The Mummy? was welcomed onto Royal Caribbean’s new ship, Anthem of the Seas. Here’s what Sally and her daughter had to say about their experience: An Anthem of the Seas adventure.

There’s a new travel website, Feet on the Ground, created by Johanna Payton for travellers who don’t want to fly. Jo has recently returned from a fabulous trip to Amsterdam using the train rather than the plane: Volkshotel Amsterdam review

Moving into France, I was very taken with this colourful post from Katia, Funky Wellies’ Random Thoughts, which has some excellent ideas of things to do in the south of the country: Ten things to do in the South of France

Phoebe from Lou Messugo lives in France running a gîte. You can find out more about the accommodation on her site whilst her blog offers a personal commentary about the Côte d’Azur: Discovering the lovely Provencal town of Fréjus

In Mini Travellers this month there is a guest post from Clare who discovered that Valencia is a beautiful, authentic Spanish city and the perfect family holiday destination: Valencia with children

Virginie from Travel with my Kids got in touch to tell me about her blog which gives plenty of super advice about travelling with children, based on her own family’s trips. I loved this comprehensive information about Venice: Venice with kids

Moving a little further around the Adriatic, Gretta and her family had a wonderful stay in Croatia. If villa holidays are your thing, take a peek at this one: Croatia: James Villas luxury apartment

Our final stop in Europe is in Cyprus where Jen, Jenography, also experienced a luxury break, this time in the Anassa Hotel. Have a taster with these vibrant photos: iPhoneography: Staying at the Anassa in Cyprus

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading a series of posts from Liz, The Mum Blog, detailing her recent safari in the Serengeti: the skies, the colours and, of course, the wildlife. Her final post offers some very useful tips when considering a safari with children in tow: My top tips for taking kids on a family safari

Another safari devotee is Suzanne, Chicken Ruby. She now lives in Dubai but her home for four years was South Africa. Here’s a recent post showing some of the sightings at the Kruger National Park: Can you see the big 5 at Kruger in a small car?

Please get in touch via Twitter, @mumsgoneto, or my blog, if you would like your travel post to be featured in the next round-up. Sometimes, if a theme emerges, I may hold post over to the next month but I always love to see where you’ve been and will do my best to share your post.

About Trish Burgess

Trish Burgess started her blog ‘Mum’s Gone To…’ with a series of posts called ‘Mum’s Gone To Iceland’ where she was extremely ill on a whale-watching trip and thought she would die snow-mobiling on a glacier. Thankfully she survived and continued with less scary family trips: ‘Mum’s Gone To…Canada, Cyprus, Barcelona, Berlin etc. Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne she now lives in South Lincolnshire and travels with her husband and occasionally with her son, who is now at university. Trish can be found on Twitter at @mumsgoneto
