The 2012 Tasty BiB Award finalists

My job today is to tell you a little bit about who is up for the BiB award in the Tasty category sponsored by Fish is the Dish and trust me it’s not going to be easy

• because I’m supposedly dieting for my upcoming holiday and
• because all of these blogs win me over straight away with their fabulous recipes

I am going to try my hardest to be as impartial as possible but do excuse me as I fall in love with each one as I stop to gloat over their culinary concoctions, I love my food and it’s commonly known that I am easily won over with a home made curry or a freshly made Key Lime Pie.

Just make sure you’re reading this on a full stomach or you’ll be drooling like mad by the time we get to the bottom of the list

Crumbs Feed your Family

Starting off with Crumbs, feed your family. Written by two sisters the Queen of Cobble and the Queen of Ocado this is a truly one-stop site where judging by the amount of time you have, you can choose a recipe to fit. A quick peek at their site informs me that they’re in the garden drinking home made cherry vodka (sounds delicious) and they’re getting a Jubilee special post ready for us. Follow them on Twitter

English Mum

The multi tasking English Mum cooks and travels the globe whilst sharing the latest escapades her two teenage boys are getting up to. The fact she had to call one son from her Florida press trip to get him out of bed to do his A level had me in stitches. She’s made Sticky Sweet Chilli Turkey Kebabs for Lean on Turkey and they’d make a fabulous entry on any Jubilee Party table. Find her on Twitter

The Crazy Kitchen

Helen Jessup writes The Crazy Kitchen and has fabulous Linky called Cooking with your Toddler which is becoming an amazing cookery book in itself. She reviews culinary products for us, shares family friendly recipes and takes part in the 366 project. Her Slow Cooker Five Bean Chilli is certainly something I’ll be having a go at for upcoming BBQs. You can Tweet her and find her on Facebook too.

Maison Cupcake

Sarah Trivuncic is the brains behind Maison Cupcake but it’s not all about cupcakes (although do check out her Strawberry Muffins with Rose Icing) Sarah holds a Forever Nigella monthly challenge for everyone to join in and this month’s theme is not surprisingly Diamond Jubilee Celebration. Mamacook is having a moment of throwing parties in her houselhold and now she’s got the hang of it there’s no stopping her. You can find Falafels for babies, Sugar free ice lollies for kids and even a fabulous Pavlova for Adults too.  An abundance of ideas and a fabulous site if you’re weaning a baby or encouraging a toddler to love food but cooking for the family too. More Than Toast

Alice Harold writes More Than Toast and it’s a diary of her life as much as a fabulous recipe book to dip into, the birth of her second son (16th May and many congratulations from all of us here at Brit Mums) may throw a spoon in the works for a couple of weeks but her Mackerel, Beetroot and Sweet Potato Salad recipe is something to really feast your eyes on. find her on Twitter

My Daddy Cooks

Nick Coffer the man behind My Daddy Cooks has been on national television, has a published book out and is now training up his youngest daughter Matilda in the kitchen too. He’s cooked live at a BBS Good Food show and is an inspiration to all bloggers and vloggers out there. His Chorizo, Asparagus and tomato pasta looks divine. Talk to him on Twitter

What Would Nigella Do?

Sarah Miles writes What Would Nigella Do? and she’s currently working her way up to two consecutive family parties in the space of a week, seems to be that time of year all over doesn’t it? She has gone from the girl who managed to burn soup and make inedible Shepherd’s Pie to making Stuffed Chicken wrapped in Prosciutto and puts it all down to Nigella and the inspiration she gives her.
