This month in the world of style blogs it’s all about press days and transitional dressing. What IS a girl to wear when the weather seems to have forgotten it’s almost summertime? A mixed-up combination of knitwear, sunglasses, shoes without socks and scarves….oh and an umbrella! Style blogs are a godsend as we all struggle to combine our winter, spring and summer wardrobes at this weather challenged time of year.
So what have been my favourite posts of the past month?
I’ve seen lots of mentions of dungarees in the fashion blogosphere but Poppy’s Style’s post made me laugh out loud, not because of the dungarees themselves but mainly because of Joanna’s husband’s comments. He sounds just like my husband and I love how Joanna doesn’t give a monkeys. She took all the comments on the chin and still stands by her second foray into this genre (last one was circa 1998). And pretty damn good she looks in them too!
My latest girl crush is Catherine over at Not Dressed As Lamb. If you are shy of wearing colour, get yourself over to her blog and be consumed by the most luscious colour combinations that will have you whipping off your blacks and greys in an instant. The photography is incredible also – this post from a visit to London stood out for me this month.
Next, it’s Marlene at Chocolate, Cookies & Candie and her post about how to stay young without plastic surgery. This girl cracks me up. From using the right filter on your instagram photos to turning off the anti-shake in your camera – that’s my kind of botox! Marlene has been lucky enough to get into London to some of the press days too – most notably, the Burburry one last week. Check out her report from an amazing, kid-friendly day on this link.
If you’re a Zara and Massimo Dutti fan, you’ll be lusting after Jane’s wardrobe over at My Midlife Fashion. I cannot get enough of her stunning outfits and amazing scarf collection. There hasn’t been an outfit since her blog began that I’ve not wanted to own. Check it out now – she’s a star at doing high street edits too. There are a few recent ones covering Maxi Skirts and Maxi Dresses – perfect transitional items of clothing.
Finally this month, a fabulous Press Day post from Emma over at Fashion Mommy. She spent a day with the Task PR team, checking out new ranges from designers such as Marc Cain, Tamaris and Ash. Sounds fabulous and there are loads of photos to check out on the link here.
See you all next month when hopefully we’ll be firmly in our sandals and cropped trousers…hopefully….x

Great post, I love the style of all these bloggers! My favourite is MyMidlifefashion - she has a sexy, smart, sophisticated style, each look is so wearable for a woman of any age. She would suit our clothesline...Jeetly dresses the corporate fashionistas who arent afraid of wearing colour and love femininity.

Thanks this is a great style round up - I'm not convinced that the dungarees would work with my post baby belly but I'm loving the new blogs to follow :D
