Kicking off this autumnal extravaganza is a very happy Tin Box Traveller. She spent time at Rhossili Bay, one of Britain’s best beaches, before exploring the Gower coast. Also making the most of their time on the beach, albeit in North East Scotland, was Way Too Much Luggage while Susan K Mann explored the beautiful landscape around Loch Lomond.
Having children certainly means we appreciate the smaller things that otherwise might have gone unnoticed. We stop to take in the colour, we admire the landscape and we have an obsession with picking up ‘treasure’ whether it be conkers, leaves or fir cones. Favourites include this autumnal and rose based collection from Wild About Here, a beautiful derelict railway scene by Gingerlillytea and a conker haul around Burg Schlitz by Mummy Alarm.
Forests have been a particularly popular within the community with photographs varying from the adorable to the incredible. Here we have the Five Little Doves twins showing some sisterly love, Squished Blueberries having spooky adventures and Dilan and Me discovering Thetford Forest. Plus of course this amazing drone image of Mallards Pike taken by Family Days Tried and Tested.
Lakes have also been popular especially when the sun is setting and the water is so incredibly still. Living Life Our Way captured this image in Southend on Sea while Mummy and Monkeys’ photograph was taken near her home.
As for the Doves, tranquility has come in the form of Winkworth Arboretum in Surrey. Managed by the National Trust, it’s quite spectacular even as we approach the end of autumn. One of my favourite spots is across the lake looking back on the boathouse which has stood sentry for a hundred years.
That’s it for now but the Snapshot round-up will be back mid December with a festive round-up. We’re now on the look out for inspirational photographs with a Christmas theme so feel free to tag me on Twitter. You can find me here (and on Instagram here).
