Save the Children is launching Den Day, a super-fun family fundraiser which invites the British public to pick a date between 29th May and 6th June to unleash their imaginations and build their ultimate den. Den Day gives everybody an opportunity to get creative for a good cause; by getting sponsored to spend a day or night in their den, families can raise money to help Save the Children build better lives for children

Taking part is easy, whether you pile up cushions and create a bed-sheet teepee, transform the sitting room into a huge den, or turn a cardboard box into the entrance to a magical world, your imagination is the only limit. Den Day aims to highlight the issues faced by children around the world who don’t have a safe place to sleep or play. It is vital that we spread the word about the plight children face and what better way to raise awareness than building a den with your children and writing about your experiences!

Save the Children is urging all bloggers to share their den building experience and is laying down a challenge to see who can build the biggest and best Den! Of course we’ll leave that to you and your followers to judge.

In 2014, Save the Children responded to 84 emergencies in 47 countries – delivering life-saving food, water, healthcare, education and shelter to over 5 million people. The money raised by Den Day could help provide the vital aid children and their families need next time a devastating emergency hits. The campaign has received a huge amount of support already including Bear Grylls who said, “I’ve never needed an excuse to build a den and now neither do you! Save the Children’s Den Day is a great way to use your imagination and have fun. So get sponsored, get building and start saving lives”
