Hello everyone, and welcome to the April edition of the Britmums Review Round-up! Have you had the April showers where you live? We certainly have here – it has been bright sunshine one minute and then heavy rain the next!
This month I have a collection of reviews featuring indoor toys and games – some ideas to keep the kids busy if you are hit by one of those April rain storms!
We have been big fans of the Little Tikes brand for a long time, and I love the look of this Catch me Crabbie reviewed by Chilling with Lucas. It has a motion sensor which encourages little ones to move and groove! Another great toy for younger children is the Jumperoo – Babi a Fi and her little one really rate it. We have the Space Saver Jumperoo ourselves, and it is something that has been used on a daily basis for several months now – well worth the investment. An alternative to the Jumperoo is the Leapfrog Learn and Groove activity station as reviewed by Finding our Feet. The Fisher Price play gym is great for babies too, and gives your arms a rest for 5 minutes – Boo, Roo and Tigger Too have a great review of that one. If the rainy days are made worse by a teething baby, you could ease the pain by getting your hands on some Gumigem toys – Midwife and Life likes the Bubba Bag, and I have to say we are big fans too!
For the older children, you could try these Rory’s Story Cubes – Man vs Pink thinks they are ideal for creative play and encouraging imagination. Board games and puzzles are also a really great rainy day activity, and lots of bloggers have reviewed these – check out Barbecue Party over on Stopping at Two, Seagull Splat at ET Speaks From Home, Don’t Rock the Boat from Diary of a First Child, Where do we live? on Super Busy Mum, Giant Railway Puzzle from Quite Frankly She Said and Pirate Snakes and Ladders & Ludo, which is a big favourite in this house!
Then there are the crafty and activity sets – always a winner in my house! The Flair 2-in-1 Sticker Magic set reviewed by In the Playroom looks great, as does the Fab Labs Bath Bomb kit over on Blue Bear Wood. Over 40 and a Mum to One has tried out a Fairy Garden, which would be great for the kids to make ready for the garden in the summer. Emma and Three has reviewed the Monster HighFrankie Stein Designer Bootique, ideal for any budding designers!
Finally, there are the amazing play sets you can get now – I adore this Happyland set reviewed by Sopie, Ella and Me. For Peppa fans, this Peppa Pig Holiday Sunshine Villa over on Chez Maximka looks fun, or try the Tea Party Imaginative Play set that Play & Learn Every Day has written about. I love the look of the Playmobil Carrying Cases shop reviewed by A Moment With Franca, and The Gingerbread House has a great review of the Hot Wheels Split Speeders Blade Raid Trackset, which my son has on his birthday list! My 2 year old is a big fan of WOW Toys, and my 10 month old is just starting to show an interest in these too – they are the type of toys that stand up to anything!
Finally, I just have to mention this review from Diary of a First Child – This is Not a Book looks SO much fun, I want to have a go myself!
