Publishing Success for The Knackered Mother's Wine Club

Exciting news from BritMums member Helen McGinn from The Knackered Mother’s Wine Club! Helen has had publishing success signing a contract with Pan Macmillan for her book “The Knackered Mother’s Wine Club: Fridge-door whites and in-the-rack reds; how to choose, taste and enjoy wine” due to be published February 2013. Congratulations Helen!

In her own words:

So, I’ve got news. I got an email just before Christmas. It was from a fellow knackered mother and wine lover. Oh, and she was also an editorial director for a publishing company and asked if I would like to write a wine book. At which point, my knees buckled and I had to sit down. Eldest Boy asked me if I was okay. I let out a squeal. So did the children. They had no idea what they were squealing about, they were just happy to be squealing. Anyway, news is the KMWC book will be out in February next year, a hardback with groovy illustrations.

The book is designed to guide busy mums through the wine maze and give them confidence when it comes to selecting, tasting and enjoying wine. The Knackered Mother’s Wine Club: Fridge-door whites and in-the-rack reds, how to choose, taste and enjoy wine is by Helen McGinn, and Gough bought rights direct from the author. Helen McGinn is a blogger, an ex wine-buyer, a wine-marketing expert, and, as the name would suggest, a tired mum of three.

Liz Gough says: ‘Helen’s blog is fantastic and struck a real chord. Her straight-talking style demystifies the world of wine, so that choosing a bottle for a special event, Sunday lunch, or even just a night in with the girls, is easy and fun, once you are armed with her brilliant advice.’

Helen McGinn says: ‘Wine is such a joy but at the same time can be a nightmare to navigate. My blog was started in the hope it might help people to try new wines and discover different regions. To be able to put that all together in a book is an absolute dream.’
