How glorious has the weather been these past few weeks? What a wonderful start to the kid’s school summer holidays. Even though we have had a few thunderstorms, overall the weather has been lovely hasn’t it, meaning lots of fun in the great outdoors. The park, the beach, the countryside or even the city, being able to spend time outside makes the school holidays a whole lot easier.
One little boy, who unfortunately won’t get to spend a lot of time outside this summer is Joshua. He is a seven-year old (totally adorable) little boy who has leukemia and over the summer he is undergoing eight weeks of three different types of chemotherapy and his school homework is to keep a holiday diary. As he will be spending most of his holiday in hospital, Joshua’s Mum & Dad have come up with the brilliant idea of asking friends and relatives to send him postcards from their holidays so he can put them in his diary. Helen over at ‘The Crazy Kitchen’ introduces us to #PostcardsforJosh where you can find the address to send postcards. Please help put a smile of this gorgeous little boy’s face by sending him a postcard from your travels over the summer and he will add it to his scrapbook.
As a busy parent (and Grandparent) I know only too well how easy it is to neglect ourselves as we rush around like crazy with the chores, school run and errands, but it is important to take care of you too. The lovely Heather over at ‘Stay At Home Mum And Loving It’ reminds us to make more of an effort with our own health and well-being, which in turn leads us to become not just healthier but happier and more confident too.
‘The Joyful Mum’, Elizabeth shares with us a beautiful post about what she should teach her children. A thought-provoking and inspirational message about providing her daughter with positive skills and attitudes that will cultivate happiness, wellbeing and resilience in life.
Accepting who we are, is a key factor in experiencing a feeling of wellbeing. Charlotte from ‘Write like No-one Is watching’ writes about embracing and celebrating the person she is and by refusing to spend her life trying to please others, she has adopted an attitude that loves herself for who she is. I love her positive message.
Being a parent is hard work, one of the most challenging roles anyone can have in life. Most of the time it’s a role that is happy and fun, but sometimes we feel frustrated and downright exhausted. Lauren from ‘Real Housewife of Suffolk County’ shares with us the sometimes testing times of being a mum. I’m pretty sure that most of you can relate to her honest post about real motherhood.
To end this months positively inspirational round-up I’d like to leave you with Kate’s vlog post ‘A Day In The Life’. Such a fun vlog, her Son is such a character and I just wanted to share it with you simply because it made me smile (and chuckle in places) and I hope it does you too.
I hope you enjoy reading through this months round-up, the lovely Michelle will be back in September and I will see you again in October. I hope you all enjoy your summer and please don’t forget to post Joshua a postcard from wherever you are.
Happy Holidays x
