I love everything about this time of year… the tinsel, the baubles, the presents, the wrapping, the food, the telly and even the cheesy Christmas movies that are on 24/7, but most of all I love the magic of it all. Blogosphere is full of Christmas Inspiration and here are a few of my favourites.
Towards the end of last month I read Mutterings Of A Fool’s post as he told us all about his Stir It Up Sunday and his childhood memories of standing on a chair holding a wooden spoon and looking down into one of his Mums big blue china mixing bowls full of dried fruit. Ben tells us that “It’s one of those great traditions where everyone can get involved and you can start showing your children how magical this time of year can be.”
JollyJilly tells us all about Advent and what it means to her in this very thought-provoking post about stopping for a moment to consider the real meaning of Christmas and to take a good look at what we have in our lives to be grateful for.
Two Beans And A Bump shares with us her Family Christmas traditions and how excited she is during the build up to Christmas. I love to read other bloggers traditions and what they do to get everyone in the mood for the festive season.
One tradition that has caught my eye this year is from Anna over at The Imagination tree who shares an alternative idea to the popular ‘Elf on a Shelf’ Christmas tradition by introducing the children to Kindness Elves. Focusing on positive, character-building activities for kids, Anna tells us that her goal is all about “Teaching love, kindness and gratitude with a hope to raise kids who move away from the “entitlement” attitude which pervades our modern generation.”
I welled up with emotion when I read the post ‘Is Santa Real‘ from the very lovely 40 Year Old Domestic Goddess. Keeping the Christmas magic alive isn’t always easy especially around the time when the kids reach the age when they start to question Santa’s authenticity. How do you deal with that in your Family and continue to keep the magic alive?
To finish off this months round-up I’ll leave you with The Pigeon And Me and her Carnival of Gifts as she reminds us that the Act of Giving is something we can do all year round, not just at Christmas.
