Oct Inspirational Round-up: Life weeding and more

inspiration round upAwesome Journey…

As this post goes live today I am taking possibly the most exciting journey of my life.  Today I am travelling with Jen Howze to Ethiopia with the ONE campaign. Jen and I will be privileged to meet mothers in another continent, living in very different conditions to us and we will be excited to find out about their everyday life. We will be posting and sharing some amazing photos and stories and I pray that you will feel compelled to sign up and offer your voice to ONE.  They are a wonderful campaigning and advocacy organisation fighting for justice and an end to extreme poverty. ONE always says ‘we’re not asking for your money, we’re asking for your voice.’ Please follow Jen and I as we journey and share our tweets and posts on any social media platform that you use and be brave- go old school – talk about us to your friends and family too.  We are all in this together…. Come journey with us. Follow #ONEMoms and #ONEMums

Life weeding…

I can honestly say that I KNOW I should be travelling to Ethiopia, it is the perfect thing for me to be doing right now and it was reading a super post titled ‘Weeding’ that I got this realisation. Suzanne writes a lovely blog, 3 Children and It and I would recommend you pay her a visit.  This recent post is by far my favourite in a long time. Suzanne suggests that we all need to weed our lives every so often and make room for new activities and those things we don’t even know we should be doing.  If I had not stopped some of the manic activities in my life I know I would never have taken the time to start blogging about charity campaigns and thus would never be taking this remarkable journey.

Making changes…

I think someone who could relate to Suzanne’s post (no idea if she has read it!) is Kate. I can honestly say that Kate is one of the most down to earth, pleasant and welcoming bloggers around. She has a real passion for women to grab back the reins on their lives and to make the best of them.  I enjoyed her recent post about what a difference a year makes and I am praying for Kate and her family at the moment as they go through the very difficult time with her Dad dying.

Grieving…

Someone who has been through the hardest time of late is Linda. In my eyes Linda is the alpha twin mummy blogger, she is awesome and she also is grieving the loss of her beloved husband who passed away recently. Linda has started a new blog recently and she is using it to help her process her grief. A recent post from her has prompted over 100 comments when I last looked and Linda takes time to explain to us how her grief feels, it is a moving account for sure.

Well who knew?

Another moving post but in a different way is this one from Trish at ‘Mums gone to’. Whilst on holiday in Sweden recently her drummer son Rory had the privilege to meet a world class jazz drummer Ronnie Gardner, if that was not exciting enough in itself Ronnie revealed to Trish and her family just what he is doing with his life now at the age of 80.  Wow, an inspiration to us all.  I won’t spoilt it – go read…

Why I blog…

Then I leave you this time with a post that really appealed to me from Hopeful Mummy at Touch and Tickle. We all have our own reasons of why we blog, to become a writer, to make friends, to share with family and for some of us we have a message. Hopeful Mummy has as special message she wants to share and she does so eloquently here.

As always, thanks for reading.  Do pop over and leave some comment love for those I have highlighted this month, you never know they may just come back and see you too. Don’t forget to link up any inspirational or positive posts that you have written too

About Michelle Pannell

Mummy from the Heart is the fourth baby of Michelle, a 46 year old (manic) mother living in East Sussex. Having moved to the countryside and ‘retired’, Michelle can now be found eating too much cake and taking long walks. She lives life on the bright side and looks for the joy in every situation, even the excess pounds those cakes keep adding! Michelle’s blog is a very honest place where she shares tales of imperfect parenting, being a Christian digital activist and anything else that takes her fancy.

thank you for including me amongst some inspirational posts where bravery and courage are abundant. I hope that ethiopia has opened your eyes to all the good that has been done, to all the good that can still be done and has humbled you, enabling you to pass the ONEMUM message on.

Thanks Mich for the inclusion and perhaps reminding me this year too may bring big and positive changes despite the current sadness. Your prayers are needed and appreciated. Looking forward to seeing the other blog posts too. Will visit them all.

Thank you very much Michelle for your kind words, I was worried my blog would be too sombre and depressing but already I am blogging there about love and hope, my blog has prompted people to get in touch privately to tell me how it has helped them, grief can be such a taboo subject. I am overwhelmed and very grateful as like you, I think so many of us have a basic need to help people. I wish you so much love and luck in your visit to Ethiopa, what an amazing privelege to make such a difference, I look forward to reading all about it and being challenged.
