Positively Inspirational Round-up: Love yourself, the power of ‘we’ & being good enough

Positively Inspirational Round-up: Love yourself, the power of ‘we’ & being good enough

I’ll start us off with a short and sweet post from Ami at My Mummy Spam; her post titled ‘Feeling Lucky’ is a great read and a super reminder that it is so fulfilling when we stop and are thankful for what we have. A long time ago, back in early 2011 when I started the Reasons to be Cheerful linky I wrote the following and I’m so glad Ami has realised it too.

Do you know what I believe are two of the fundamental keys to happiness? One, is to choose to be happy and the other is to want what you already have! Endless seeking of things, money, status, time or anything else will never fulfil you!

Michelle at Words, Rhymes, Rambles had me nodding away as I read her post about parenting imposter syndrome. I love that at the end of the post she shared her realisation that she is a good enough mum and in fact a perfect one for her daughter, as we all are for our own kids.

If you know anyone showing signs of postnatal depression then please do send them over to read this amazing post from Louise at Pink Pear Bear. It is a really honest account of how postnatal depression affected her and she has taken her experience and turned it into an encouragement for others.

Ahh children amaze me every day. Take Jodie at Autism with lots of Love and Affection‘s 3 year old daughter, she has empathy far beyond her years and Jodie shares her eternal gratitude in a beautiful post dedicated to all siblings of SEN children.

I’m pleased to report that I have never had to fight the demon nicotine but I have my own battles with food, so I know how hard it is to beat an addiction and all credit to Rach of Our Rach Blogs as she woke up at the beginning of October following a big weekend in Marbella and realised she was now 30 and needed to make some changes.

The wonderful Suzanne, formerly of Three Children and It fame has moved onto writing a new blog called ‘Inside, Outside and Beyond’ and I really enjoyed her post titled ’10 years from now’ where she reflects on the position she’d like to be in when she hits 55. She has certainly inspired me to have a ponder on my list and see what I want my life 10 years from now to look like.

I thought I had stumbled upon my own blog when I started reading this next post from Angela at The Inspiration Edit. That story of being a beautiful teenager but just believing you were fat because you were a size 14 and bigger than some other girls really resonated with me. I’m so pleased to read that Angela is now on a new journey and has learnt to accept that she is beautiful no matter what her size.

I was chuckling away as I read the brilliant ‘Yummy V’s Slummy: A normal Mums Demise‘ post from The Unsung Mum. Her little cartoons of the battles between Yummy and slummy are hilarious but in the end yes I am with her, and I too am a good enough middling mum.

This is a bumper edition this month, but there are just so many great posts out there and I found I couldn’t not include them! I adore this post from Aby at You Baby, Me Mummy where she talks about the power of ‘We’ in blogging and how some of the best things come out of blogger collaborations. That has definitely been my experience over the last eight years.

Then I really must draw this to a close, so last up is a recommendation for the blog at What my fridge says. It is a new blog to me but I’ll certainly keep going back as Lucy has a really positive outlook on life and in the post I read she described herself as a ‘choose to be happy, glass half full’ kind of girl and that is how I’d often describe myself too, hence starting this round-up some years back. Thanks to Lisa at That British Betty for this great blog recommendation.

I hope you’ve found at least one or two articles that have made you smile and inspired you to laugh, to love and to live the best life you can.

Catch you again in January as Emma will be here with next months’ Positively Inspirational round-up. Mich x

About Michelle Pannell

Mummy from the Heart is the fourth baby of Michelle, a 46 year old (manic) mother living in East Sussex. Having moved to the countryside and ‘retired’, Michelle can now be found eating too much cake and taking long walks. She lives life on the bright side and looks for the joy in every situation, even the excess pounds those cakes keep adding! Michelle’s blog is a very honest place where she shares tales of imperfect parenting, being a Christian digital activist and anything else that takes her fancy.

I should really make some time and read those blogs too. I love to hop on blogs that gives inspirations, but then again, don't we all love that?
