Newbie Tuesday: The whole range!

Newbie Tuesday: The whole range!

It’s Newbie Tuesday again and this month I have found blogs covering the whole range of topics from death to fingernails! Before I got this gig I was totally unaware of how many new blogs start up every week, but I have been thrilled to be contacted by so many new bloggers recently, and some of them have become favourites of mine already!

One thing I don’t often read is a review, unless it is for something I a specifically needing. But I have recently discovered some blogs that might have me clicking links rather than deleting. Check out these fabulous nails at Keeping Up with the Joneses – I had no idea I needed these, but I so do 😉 I am also lusting after this personalised iPhone case thanks to Mamageek, and I was gutted to discover that my babies didn’t have the best ever playmat when they were tiny – but Mummy Mayhem’s baby does! All well-written posts that drew me in – who knew there was so much stuff I needed? I’m also thinking that your kids would be rather keen on you checking out Mummy Rates It too!

Over on the forum this week I am keen to know what you think about review blogs; are they for you or do you shy away as I have previously? Do you have any tips for aspiring reviewers on how to get more traffic to their sites? Come and add your tips or have your say.

Now, I have been itching to share this Dad blogger with you since last month. Military Dad is just so funny, and happens to be online at the same time as me (middle of the night!) so we have chatted and he is funny! His pickles post had me chuckling out loud – trust a bloke to reduce it all to food. 😉 And talking of food, I am currently hero-worshipping a blogger who has the ability to turn a vegetable into a cupcake! I kid you not, her cakes are the best!

I am subduing the tone now, but please take the time to read Lish Concepts look at death. It is an extremely poignant post, but what I liked about it was her ability to turn shock and sadness into a positive action going forward. I love to read truly moving and inspiring posts, and Another Inspiring Morning promises to bring me lots of those if her first post is anything to go by.

On a much lighter (though she would refute it) note, I nodded in mutual sisterhood at Nearly Perfect Mother’s eloquent survey of her body post-children and heading for middle-age. Should she pull out all the stops to turn back time, or would she be better succumbing to her fate with a large glass of red? Finally, if you have ever caught yourself thinking smugly that you’ve got parenting cracked, you will relate to this Mum’s Internal Monologue over her son outwitting her just when she thought she was gaining on him! 😀

See you next month for another round-up of some of the best new bloggers – come and find me @ActuallyMummy whenever you like – I’m usually lurking somewhere 😉 And if you haven’t convinced your family to celebrate Mother’s day in style yet, take a look at this post for inspiration!
