Howdy! I’m Annie aka Mammasaurus and every week I’m going to be highlighting great posts by newer bloggers and dishing out some tips and advice. I only have limited space so I’ll ask you to excuse my brief explanations and trust my judgement as I cram in as much fantastic reading for you as I can. So whack on the kettle and pop your feet up as I take you through the best bits of the last week in my …
Highlights of the Week!
This week Chatty Baby has been learning to share, Dorky Mum has been letting strangers into her home, Frankie Parker has had a funny but ill-fated love affair whilst poor Boo and Me has found her first grey hair.
A Nearly Perfect Mother has been finding all sorts in her knicker drawer, It’s a Dads Life has been possibly over-analysing his brain, Morethanamumblog has been questioning a toddler's morality and Purple Mum has ranted about punctuality. 12 hours till bedtime has been trying to mind the f word, conversely All Sweetness and Light has been on the receiving end if it!
Mums guide to insanity has been sharing a fantastic memory and Tired Mum Of Two has rolled out a Christmas Tombola!
And on a final creative note Wagdoll has given us strawberry pin cushions, Mum of All Trades has thought up the perfect map table idea for marauding children and Emmys Mummy has been getting Piggy with it!
This week's tips …
- I’ve trawled the BritMums blog archive and found ‘Beginning Blogging: 10 Top Tips for Starting Out on the Right Foot’ written by Karin from CafeBebe. Published back in August last year it’s still relevant and some great advice!
- This week Love New Blogs has been talking about arranging your sidebar to ensure that you are maximising your content.
- If you aren’t already – get on Twitter! Start off by adding a Twitter widget on your blogs sidebar to allow your readers to connect with you. Next begin ’following’ bloggers that you read and build up a relevant list of people to follow. You can then link your posts and thoughts and attract more visitors to your blog, it really does work wonders! If you are new on Twitter and a little lost and need to find some relevant people to follow to get you started then add @BritMums and myself @Mammasaurus or @LoveNewBlogs. We can help point you in the direction of fellow new bloggers and get you started.
Finally a note on BritMums Live! Numerous newer bloggers who want to attend have mentioned that they are unsure about costs and would like info regarding possible sponsorship. I can report back that sponsorship guidelines will be available sometime this week which will inform you what you can and can't do. If you are interested in sponsorship then I encourage you to start looking at the PR's/brands that you may have worked with and start thinking about whom you may like to pitch to. The guidelines will help you to put together your pitches so don't go jumping at brands/PR's just yet.
Don't forget that BritMums Live! is for all parents that blog, you don't have to be a "mummy blogger" just interested in connecting with other parents ie some mums coming write about food, tech, fashion, etc). On the Friday of BritMums Live! there will loads of bloggers from outside parent blogging, and we will be talking about the state of British blogging with the HuffPost UK and some well known bloggers from outside our little area of blogosphere, it should be very enlightening! So pass the word on if you know someone who you think may be interested…

Rachel, so glad you found us!
First of all, I’d say, add the BritMums blog to your Google reader or bookmarks. We have new content all week, every week to help you improve your blogging and learn how to grow your audience, find likeminded bloggers and enjoy it all.
Next, if you haven’t already, join BritMums network https://www.britmums.com/. There are so great groups there to help you connect with other foodie bloggers as well as grow your blogging skills. Whenever you have a new post, put your link on the network so othe rpeople can find it. And jump into the discussions. Sometimes newbies tend to hang back but it’s a very friendly group.
And Mammasaurus and her Newbie Tuesday is a great place to check in every week. Annie is passionate about getting new bloggers settled and up to speed.
Any questions, just ask.
