Newbie Round-up: Fresh faced talent

Hundreds of blogs are started everyday. As a new blogger it can be very hard to get noticed. However, some new bloggers are doing just that, getting noticed with a writing style that belies their ‘newbie’ status. Whether they are writing humour with the wit of Joan Rivers, tackling important, and sometimes controversial, topics or simply giving us a touching insight into their family life, newbie bloggers are seriously making waves in the blogging world.

As the new Newbies Round-up Editor, I now have the pleasure of showcasing some ‘newbie’ posts and I can’t wait to champion this talented bunch of bloggers. So let’s get started.

The first post I want to share is a corker from Laura, Nearly Yummy Mummy, Sometimes it’s hard… and that is all. The best writing evokes feelings and this fabulous post brought a tear to my eye. Motherhood is tough; no-one would deny it’s not worth it, but that doesn’t stop it being challenging and this post makes us realise that we are not alone.

Sticking with the power of motherhood, Stacey from Mummy and the Bubbas shared An apology letter to my first born, such a touching post. I think the sign of a good mum is someone who worries about the mistakes they feel they have made.

Starting school, I want to keep you on my lap a little longer, another beautiful and emotional post this time from Eilidh, Mummy and Monkeys. Echoing what many mums go through when their little ones go off to school for the first time. I know I will be a wreck!

Newbies are also tackling serious issues and making us think with their writing. One such post was the brilliant screening our baby for Down’s Syndrome by Mrs MacGovern. Such a thought provoking piece, tackling a difficult subject.

Stevie over at A Cornish Mum recently highlighted World Diabetes day. Speaking from personal experience, Stevie writes for parents of type 1 children out there, eradicating misconceptions about the condition and also as a tribute to her amazing son Finn.

Being a bit of a blog geek, I adored ‘why you suck at blogging and should probably quit’ from Kaye, Hello Archie. If you feel your blog-life balance is a little out of whack, then this post is for you.

Finally, where would we be without humour and Katy from Carry on Katy is here to help us out with The Top 4 Toddler Tantrums…And How To Handle Them, such a gifted writer who never fails to raise a smile with her wonderful posts.
