My Best Post of The Week: What’s yours? #MBPW

thumbs upHow’s your week been? Mine has been frustrating.

I forgot to take the twins to their gymnastics class on Tuesday. It only dawned on me when my partner walked in from work and asked why we were back so early.

On Wednesday morning we had a 10.30 appointment with the girls new teacher, a home visit, yes the one I’d been grumbling about recently. Well they turned up more than an hour early and I wasn’t ready for them. An ironing pile that needed shoving somewhere, girls with unbrushed hair and toys strewn all over the floor. Not quite the first impression I had intended to make.

I was curious to discover that the children will be taught to write cursive from the word go. Now my two 4 year olds aren’t great at holding pencils and one twin is the first to give up if a task is difficult ‘I can’t do it mummy!’ so that’s going to be interesting and make for pleasant autumnal evenings ahead.

On Thursday I had arranged to hangout with my friend and colleague Karin at 10am, I even confirmed my presence before breakfast I was up so early and then I started working on the Lost Kidz guest post and a new project and I forgot!!!

I read a message on my phone at 11am saying she was off out and I felt dreadful, bad with myself for letting her down and annoyed with myself for having forgotten AGAIN.

What is up with my brain recently? Do I need a bloggy break?

Having only recently found social media and become completely addicted, I have no intention of breaking at the moment, in fact I've just started a second blog. However I can see how you can neglect the things around you if care isn't taken. I have promised to myself to stay off after school pick up unless the children are at friends and no social media in bed although the hubby doesn't keep to this and is often found messing with his ipad at bedtime, passion killer!... Whom I kidding.

I think it's a good idea to give yourself some strict rules and it would be so sad to find the kids grown up and you missed it because you were on the laptop! I aim to get a good balance this autumn - thanks for commenting
