TV stars these days need to not only look great but have an Instagram worthy appeal to their young fans which is why one celebrity management company has created an online cosmetic brand to not only help their clients always be red-carpet ready, but also allow the fans to emulate their celebrity clients!
Misfits Celebrity Management looks after reality TV stars such as Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan and Chloe Simms from The Only Way is Essex and they recently launched Misfit Cosmetics with three exciting products. The idea is that these products help the user to achieve an Instagram-filtered look naturally – without the online filter and for this reason, their tag line is #WhoNeedsAFilter.
Misfit Cosmetics offered the BritMums team a chance to sample their three products, so we got our fabulous Round-up Editors involved! We sent one product to each blogger to get their opinion and here’s what they thought.

Dr Sharon Parry is the BritMums Teen & Tween Round-up Editor so who better to receive the Blackhead Extraction Paste, which she tried on her teenagers. Over to Sharon…
Review: Blackhead Extraction Paste
My two teenage daughters tried out the Edit Powerful peel off face mask on the T zone area of the face which tends to be most troublesome in terms of oil, blackheads and pimples. The mask is easy to apply and smells lovely. You do look a bit strange when you have it on because it is jet black so you wouldn’t want to answer the door wearing it! It washes off your hands easily and then you relax for 25 minutes whilst it dries. As it dries you can feel it tingling a little but it doesn’t sting. You then pick at the edges and peel it off which does pull at the skin so you feel confident that it is dragging impurities with it. Once it is removed the skin feels lovely and soft and fresh. Some blackheads remained but with repeated use it may be able to remove these. On the whole, they thought that is was a great product that they would use again.

Jessica Brown, our Bumps & Babies Round-up Editor tried the
Shine Teeth Whitening Powder. She reports:
Review: Shine Teeth Whitening Powder
“After using this for a few weeks my teeth felt squeaky clean. The black carbon definitely helps remove every day stains and plaque from around your teeth.
But it didn’t change the colour of my teeth or make them appear any whiter. It’s very messy to use and having black teeth and gums is initially quite a shock!”

Finally Joanne Dewberry writes the Mums in Business Round-up and she tried the Natural Sleep Oil with her young daughter. She shares her experience:
Review: Natural Sleep Oil
For ages now Megan has really struggled with getting to sleep. I’ve tried most things. No screentime after 5pm. Bathing before bed. Going to bed early and having some quiet reading time. Going to bed a little later than her normal time. Light curtains. Dark curtains. She shares with Olive who usually just flakes right out. Even on busy days where Megan’s had swimming or dancing she rarely gets into bed and just falls asleep. Sometimes she’s still awake at 11pm, and then wakes in the morning tired and grumpy and running late as I’ve let her sleep in. The Mistfit Lavender Slumber Oil was our latest efforts to get an 8-year-old to sleep.
Lavender oil is known to aid in sleep by inducing drowsiness. The sweet smell is proven to reduce stress and increase feelings of relaxation, tranquility, and serenity.
Firstly we tried a couple of drops on the reverse side of Megan’s pillow. As this didn’t have the desired effect the second night we put a few drops on her teddy. The third night we tried a few drops in her bath. Whilst Megan didn’t fall asleep straight away and was still awake at 9 I did notice she was calmer than usual. Olive (5) on the other hand was out like a light! I think the lavender scent had some effect on her. We have concluded on our part that we might need to consult a doctor now.
If your child is struggling to settle at night I would totally recommend trying the Lavender Sleep Oil it definitely invokes a calming atmosphere. Whilst it hasn’t made her sleep I have still been using it on a daily basis.
You can purchase these products at the Misfit Cosmetics shop. Costs range from £7.99 to £12.99.
