Some people like watching videos of cats.  I split my time between watching videos of people doing dumb things that result in them hurting themselves, and people turning a classic pop song into a brilliant parody.

This months LOL round-up is all about the latter, parenting parodies with some re-written children’s stories thrown in for good measure.

Enjoy the snippets and click on the link for the full posts and give them some karaoke glory.

Be warned though, you will find yourself humming these tunes for the next 48 hours.

Tim at Slouching Towards Thatcham is giving Queen Bee a run for her money with his parody of “All The Single Ladies” in honour of #BML16: Parent Bloggers.

We got Carol Smillie, at the Brewery
And a breakout on analytics
YouTube too, queues for the loo
Lindeman’s, need a drink
We talk to brand sponsors, did I mention
I’m in the Tots 100?
I made the shortlist
Top 10 Readers’ Choice
Would you maybe like to work with me?

Karen at Stopping at Two has re-written the classic Bon Jovi rock anthem “Living on a Prayer” in honour of gin: Pass The Gin.

Mummy’s got some sick on her dress
And something in her hair
She’s a complete mess
It’s tough, so tough
Hubby keeps on snoring away
When they cry in the night
Mummy mutters,
“This isn’t okay, you’ll pay….

Julie at Picking up Toys has her own take on Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me.”

Mummy came in and she caught me red-handed
Drawing Sharpie on the kid next door.
Picture this, we were both caught scribbling pen on my bedroom floor.

Madeline at This Glorious Life has written an equally brilliant version of Baz Luhrmann’s “Everybody’s Free to Wear Sunscreen”: Everybody’s Free to Wear Breast Pads.

Enjoy your muslins, use them every way you can
Don’t be afraid of them or what other people think of them
They’re the greatest bit of material you’ll ever own

And for the final song parody, one of my own. It’s a rework of Adele’s “All I Ask” as a breakup song about chocolate.

I will love you from afar
I can’t even dip my spoon
into the Nutella jar

No one soothes me like you do
And I can’t use the PMT excuse
I’m really going to miss you

Moving onto some classic stories, Hayley at Sparkles & Stretchmarks has written her version of the popular “That’s Not My…”

That’s not my ipad… It’s screen is too sticky

Sarah at Mumzilla has made “The Cat in The Hat” all about The Mum With The Wine.

So let’s up the stairs, brush your teeth, into bed!                                                                               And get thoughts of procrastination out of your head                                                                     There will be no jumping about, or an extra three books                                                               This Mum does not care for your disgusted looks

Laura at Life With Baby Kicks wrote a follow up to my version of “The Gruffalo” – The Toddler-o. Laura’s story is a rewrite of “The Gruffalo’s Child” and is called The Toddler-o’s Daddy.

The Big Bad Mummy is terribly loud
Send me naughty corner, shout no allowed
Eyes see everywhere, has beady stare
Look at me and pull out her hair

I hope these parodies and stories make you smile.  I’ll be back next month with more funnies.  In the meantime if you have a funny post why not head on over to my Friday Frolics linky.
