Laugh out loud LOLSUMMER HOLIDAY EDITION

It is the holiday season so I’m kicking off this month’s roundup with the start of a holiday diary from 40yearolddomesticgodess . Wish you were here and all that! I’m hoping the holiday improved and that I never meet the grandma with 27 tattoos!

Sarah at Mum of Three World spent her holiday on a canal boat – she’s kept a short diary which is a great insight into a canal boat holiday should you be considering one – and very funny. I’ve chosen this post, the one about getting stuck in the mud is possibly funnier – but this one really makes you feel like you are there!!

If you haven’t been away yet and you are making the most of the latest sunny spell by relaxing here, you will enjoy Waterbirth Please

Here in London, the heat has been going to people’s heads. I know some (mainly men) blame the amount of naked flesh on display in the Summer – and of course us girls can hardly think straight with Beckham’s body plastered all over  town – but really I was surprised what happened on my lunch-break from the office when I was demurely dressed in a highnecked, long-sleeved T shirt and floor length tartan kilt (OK maybe not but I was well covered in a fabric sense and just look what happened!)

Nicky has also been getting a bit more attention than she expected with her tight T shirts ( Ok they may not be tight but they have writing on and so she’s asking for it clearly…) Read on.

If you think those encounters were a little surreal, then you haven’t spent enough time with Stay at Home Dad. This is something that you cannot possibly relate to (I hope) but will surely transport you to another very strange world. Just shows where staying at home and clearing out your basement can take you

Now back down to earth with a bump. This is just everyday life with kids – you would not have believed it before you had children…

And I always love the posts on what kids say – or in this case what you think they’ve said. Here’s a great one –

Here’s a top tip on anger management – often useful when tempers are raised on a family holiday. It’s a subject close to my heart with all my family ( OH included!) I have no idea if it will work but it’s worth a try and is very funny

Not only is this post funny more to the point it has some seriously useful tips on getting red wine stains out of carpets! Having said that I might think twice about using babywipes on babies!!

And this is one to get you in the mood for going back to school – not a laugh out loud as much as an inner laugh followed by a Grrr but I know you will all relate and enjoy it

Please leave any funny posts you find or your own on the Linky below for me to read

About

Not a Notting Hill Mum" is a journalist and writer, who has lived in Notting Hill for 15 years and blogs about ordinary life in W11 among the celebrities, supermodels and super-rich. She is slowly getting used to the fact that she is also a mother to Amelie and Alexander (now 8 and 5). So as well as writing about what's going on in the neighbourhood from cool - and affordable- places to visit, to how to find the Blue Door, NNHM also writes about the issues thrown up by modern family life and the funny things her children do and say. Like the round up thank you - I need a laugh as by the end of this unbelievably wet, long 'summer' school holiday I am pretty much fit to be tied! Have just managed to get to keyboard - after batting off several children - to write a blog post. http://chroniclesofdomesticdisaster.wordpress.com/ Hope you think it is funny. Got lots off material garnered over the break but no time to write. Looking forward to September and putting virtual pen to paper again.
