Homes and Design Round-up: Children’s Spaces

Hello, and welcome to another homes and design round-up, where I thought this month we could take a look at what you’ve all been doing for the kids’ bedrooms. There are so many stylish posts out there, so many stylish nurseries and play areas, that I thought it would be lovely to showcase some of my favourites. Do let me know if I’ve missed any though!

First up, and because we know planning is key when it comes to room makeovers, Missie Lizzie has put together a wonderful vintage, travel inspired moodboard for a child’s bedroom. It has all the elements you’d need, and some bang on-trend wallpaper too. Whilst we’re looking at the planning stage, Bay-Bee has been testing out some rather cool 3D designer software, called RoomSketcher, and the results are very cool. Well worth looking at if you like the planning!

Laura at Side Street Style, has been mulling over what makes a good kid’s bedroom, with some very stylish images too. Laura talks about what to consider when you’re putting the scheme together, and how kids’ rooms differ from adults.

Jenni, over at Ginger Bisquite, has been trying her hand at wallpapering for the first time this month, and put up some very cool paper, both in her son’s bedroom, and her dining area. You don’t need to shy away from these tasks, they’re all achievable. On my own blog, I’ve been looking at wallpaper too, in my regular Wallpaper Wednesday slot, and found a gorgeous vintage carousel print from Mini Moderns, that’s ideal for a child’s bedroom or playroom.

If you’re looking for something different and quirky to add to your child’s room, how about this very good value, word banner bunting from Style Arch? Come up with your own phrase and they will personalise it for you too.

The DC Project has finished her son’s bedroom makeover too, and it looks gorgeous. I just love the way she’s designed the areas to suit his play style and learning needs. It’s a bright, colourful and well thought out space, that any little boy would love.

Now, sticking with the children’s spaces theme, I did a bit of styling over at A Beautiful Space this month, for a project I’ve been working on, and Becky created a stylish children’s garden from some of the products we chose. It’s not always easy to do away with the plastic toys and paddling pools, but she’s managed it. Do check out some of our hard work.
