Home and Design Round-up: A special Christmas decoration edition

home and design round upDecorating our homes at Christmas, is all part of the excitement, and build up.  Whether we are dusting off old and treasured decorations from bygone years.  Or buying the newest trends, hot off the press. In this special Christmas interior round-up for BritMums, I wanted to highlight a few of the bloggers out there, who are sharing their Christmas homes and decorations with us.

I am a huge fan of an Advent calendar, and one involving copper pipe cut by someone’s own fair hands, I’m all over that one. Here is a simple and stylish home-made advent, from Growing Spaces, that doesn’t involve any chocolate, but a Christmas activity to do each day. I absolutely love it!

Another Advent calendar next, this time from Ginger Lily Tea.  It has a romantic, natural and whimsical feel to it, and I’m sure children would love to open it each day to find out what adventure or activity they are going to do.

I love the idea of making your own Christmas Decorations (can you tell) and I think we can really make an amazing style statement by doing so.  Here is the lovely Chris from Thinly Spread, showing us, how to make a simple paper pom-pom in a Christmas style.

I couldn’t resist this post from Bright Bizarre, about his Christmas decorating ideas in his 17th century cottage, also Love Chic Living, who has also been putting up her decorations early too.

Finally The Ordinary Lovely, has written this post, declaring the thought of an ‘ordinary’ Christmas tree boring, and has no urge to decorate one, she offers an alternative too.

I would love to know. which is you favourite?

If you have a post you would like to see in the BritMums Homes and Design Round-up, then please tweet me @gidders1

A completely different style from mine but I still want to move in to Ginger Lily Tea's house. There's something so magical about that advent calendar. I adore it.
