So how is your 2016 shaping up? I hope that it is a year filled with many home improvement projects!
Well this year, I am hoping to include as many of your fabulous home and design blog posts I can. With today being the first instalment of 2016. I have some great makeover posts to include, but also how you been inspired by announcement of the PANTONE Colour of the Year 2016, and used it your homes. Exciting stuff!
First up makeovers :
I love a picture wall, and the story behind this one is so hard to resist. Wave to Mummy shows off her gallery wall in this post. Sometimes delaying the work means it looks twice as good, I think!
A bright home office is the theme for the Mum in Brum. Now I love my home office, but the simplicity and tidiness of this one, had me reeling with envy. I especially love that her use of a dressing table and bargain pieces for this area, makes it look far more expensive than it actually was.
Oh to have a dressing room! That kind of luxury would be on most people’s wish list for a home, well it is for me! Here is a tour of Not a Frumpy Mums.
I also wanted to feature the transformation of Stephanies lounge, I love the fresh colours, corner sofa and the new fireplace with log burner, perfect for these cold wintry nights.
The next makeover I will concentrating on will be my hallway and cloakroom which I am very excited to share with you. In the mean time here is a the new reading nook in my bedroom I created using a bedroom chair,
Now onto what you have all been doing following the announcement of the 2016 Pantone colours of the year rose quartz and serenity:
I loved this post from one of my very favourite blogs, Molly and the Princess. She shows how the pairing and blending of the two colours can be used in interiors, and even looks at how these hues are used in François Boucher 18th century oil painting of Manon Balletti. Molly always dazzles me with her knowledge!
Old Fashioned Susie shows us how to add the colours into a home office with real ease. As does Stephanie as she use the colours for her twins bedrooms.
Karen from Making spaces really runs with the idea in her post, with her newly Pantone-d room having more of a kick of colour than the pastel ones I was expecting, so clever!
