Spring brings with it lots of wonderful things, but when it comes to the home, it’s all about makeovers. And that’s what I want to dedicate this edition of the Homes and Design round-up to – the Spring Makeover.
Amanda at The Ana Mum Diary has given her bedroom a brilliant, beautiful makeover courtesy of B&Q. The clever use of yellow keeps it fresh and modern, yet the print and accessories retain a more traditional feel.
Mari from Mari’s World has also been dabbling with a little yellow, and has finished the guest room makeover this month. Adding a personal touch with a photo canvas is a great way to create something individual on the walls too.
I always think making over a bathroom is really tricky, particularly if you are on a budget, but Antonia at Tidy Away Today has given hers a true spa-like feel, and spent hardly anything. She does have a real eye for a bargain, and removing the cupboard doors on her bathroom unit has made a huge difference to the feel of the room.
She’s well-known for her Food posts, but Emily at A Mummy Too also does a mean makeover post. She’s recently given her daughter’s room a very sweet makeover using IKEA products which really showcases the value of thorough planning and great storage.
A few bloggers have been showcasing the new Dulux Bedroom kit for kids’ rooms, and In the Playroom has shown exactly how great an animal mural can look. They won’t be for everyone, but they do give the room a real wow factor, and the kids will love them! And you have to check out how Side Street Style‘s little one reacted when he saw the mural on his bedroom wall. It’s so cute.
Busy Bee Mummy Bex has been hunting down some bargains from an antique business, and given a very on-trend ladder, a cool shabby chic makeover. It looks incredibly expensive, and very stylish in her bedroom, but she purchased it for the bargain price of £5!
And finally, I’ve the mother of all makeovers for you. How is your kitchen envy? Prepare yourself, it’s about to be ignited. This amazing kitchen from Life at the Littlewood will blow you away. It is just stunning. Beautifully crafted, spacious and stylish. This is a kitchen we would all love to cook in I’m sure.
You can also see some of these posts and more over at my brand new linky for Homes and Interiors posts – #LoveYourHome. It’s a great way to find lots of lovely homes posts. I’ll be choosing my favourites each week, and sharing them on Pinterest too.
Don’t forget you can also tweet me @lovechicliving and @Britmums with your homes posts though. We had a great response last month and we would love to see more this month too. Anything goes. It could be a makeover, a moodboard, a showcase post or even some upcycling. We can’t wait to read it!
See you next month, Jen x
