Home & Design Round-up: Easter and DIY

As Easter is traditionally a time for everyone to do DIY in their home, I thought this month I would include as many makeover projects, as well as ideas from the blogging community as I could. I’m hoping that you will enjoy this bumper edition, as there are some great inspirational home decor ideas out there!

First up, one of my very favourite home bloggers Rachel, from The Ordinary Lovely.  I did chuckle when she spoke about the amount of random sticks she finds around her home, luckily my girls have never done this.  Or maybe unluckily, as I would love one of these origami crane mobiles in my hallway. Or how about this post, where Mami2Five shares with us how to create a camouflage wall. Lush and flamboyant foliage and a jungle vibe, seem really big again this year in interiors, so a good technique to learn.

I loved this post from Running in Lavender, where she shares all of the eBay finds that she has purchased over the last three years. Its crazy really the bargains that you can pick up, and in this post we can see everything from dressers, a dining table and chairs as well as gorgeous crockery.

Now onto the makeovers : 

First up, a very pretty in pink dining room makeover from Mary Poppins, what a transformation! I love the colour of that sideboard against the whitewash brick wallpaper.

I have been completing my own transformation, with my hallway, what do you think?

I have two living room makeovers for you, the first captured on video from Emma. I think the choice of colour and geometric print in the wallpaper works great together.  I’m so pleased you were convinced to be braver with colour, it’s resulted in a really relaxing and pretty living room.

If you were thinking of painting your walls, have you considered grey? I fell in love with the fireplace at Love Lemon’s newly painted living room, which is in a gorgeous steel shade of grey.  I can’t wait to see how it changes once you have shelves and art work up!

How about a kitchen tour, from Marmalade Pie.  The wait for those kitchen cupboard doors, was most definitely worth it I think, as I love the clean country look that the room now has. I also found this kitchen makeover on the Thrifty Home blog, where Becky has lightened and brightened her kitchen with a lick of white paint and a lot of hard work!

If you are looking for inspiration for a child’s bedroom, then how about this from Snowing Indoors. It includes (very appropriately) a snow boarding mural which has such an impact on the room.

Finally, as I did last week, I have found another home and interiors hashtag you can join in with on Instagram #MyHomeStyle. Hosted by Life at the Little Wood and The Spirited Puddle Jumper. I love this idea, and shall be stalking the hashtag and hopefully joining in too!
