Phew! How are you coping in this heat?
If you’ve ever tried decorating in this heat you’ll know that it’s a) hot, sweaty graft and b) pretty impossible to get a good paint finish. Never fear, now’s not the time to get your decorating overalls on and finish the task in hand, now it is time to sit back, relax and stay cool if you can whilst gaining inspiration from this month’s Home and Design round-up.
So what has everyone been up to?
Well, of course many people have been out in the garden either creating their own little Garden Oasis like Lobster and Swan which is just divine I think, or getting their hands dirty and making their first ever Herb Garden. All You Need is Love and Cake seems to have green fingers after all. And then Amanda at the Ana Mum Diary has given an old garden chair a lovely summer makeover. I’ve started my own garden project too with a big revamp that’s currently underway. I’m thinking it’s going to take some time.
I think we never really have one of our round-up posts without mentioning decluttering. This month The Family Patch have got great plans for decluttering and reorganising their home which will be great once it’s done. Stage 1 is well underway though. Makeovers are also ever present and Becky at Family Budgeting has now completed her bathroom makeover on a budget project. It’s looking amazing and was done at a really great price with a High Street name. Lucy at Lulastic is reminiscing over her much loved bedroom makeover as she prepares to move home. Check out her post for some ingenious storage ideas.
Quite a few people have been reviewing some new blinds and Mari’s World needed to darken the twins’ bedroom, whilst Emma was worried about making the right choice for her new kitchen blind. She did just fine of course.
Finally, you might like to check out these home and interiors blogs if you’ve not come across them before. Will at Bright Bazaar loves colour and his blog is gorgeous and his ideas inspiring. If you want colour palette ideas this is the place to come. For example this post illustrating how to combine chocolate and coral is lovely, as are all the colour posts. Cherry Menlove has a beautiful view on home and what it means to her and others. In this post she talks movingly about creating corners in your home that bring peace and joy to not just you, but others invited to share the space with you. A beautiful sentiment on which to end this week’s round-up.
Look forward to seeing you next time, and as ever, do send me your favourite home and interiors posts.
