I don’t know about you but I really found summer 2014 very relaxing. It was probably my easiest summer with the kids so far (mine are 11 and 7), so rather than feeling harassed at having to schedule plenty of playdates and the stress of ‘finding’ things to keep them happy, the kids were capable of entertaining themselves on the days we chilled at home and they enjoyed the same activities as us adults whilst we were out!
So to prolong the summer happy feelings a little bit longer, the September BritMums Video Round-up theme is ‘holidays’. I did a shout out at the start of the school holidays to get you to vlog about anything vacation related. That could be what you did with the kids, where you travelled or maybe even about your staycation at home!
My own summer vlog is from the start of the holidays when the family and I went to Camp Bestival. The video in this post contains a special effect that I was keen to try out on my camcorder! I hope you like it.
I wasn’t the only one out and about at festivals this summer. Laura from Chez Mummy gets kudos for doing the most vlogs for this roundup. Here are five posts she did featuring video and all around this months’ theme! Well done Laura!
Here’s her day at LolliBop, Life is a beach, Making a splash on a rainy day, Booking their very first foreign family holiday and a round-up of her summer holiday highlights!
Further afield, Victoria from Globetotting did 36 Hours in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India with kids in this post and she has included both a Vine and a YouTube video!
Whilst Kirstie from the Family Adventure Project travelled like a millionaire in Japan!
If Europe is your area of interest, Lisa from Family Life in Spain shows a visit to the lakes in Malaga.
Here in the UK, Kirsty and Clara from My Two Mums did a climb up Mount Snowdon to raise money for a good cause.
Em from Brummy Mummy of 2 did a summer blog about the Gruffalo Trail and also about her day out to In the Night Garden.
Elsewhere in the vlogosphere, bloggers were armed with their camcorders to shoot other video content too. Here are some of the things they have been up to…
Nick from Dinner By Dad continues his letter to his baby son in this post.
Eileen from ET Speaks from Home has been doing DIY and in this post, shows us how to make a fantastic magnetic chalkboard…
Susan K Mann is a ‘Vlogging Virgin’ and has put an impressive three separate vlogs into this post!
Lisa from Hollybobbs has done a Tefal Infinity Juicer review and her post contains her video demo of the product. She is even giving one away!
Please visit each others posts and leave a comment – remember, sharing is caring!
The theme for October is…. there is no theme! Let’s have a free for all this time and just send me something you are proud of! I can’t wait to see what you vlog about. Just remember to get your blog posts containing video to me by Friday 10th October 2014. You can tweet me, @Businessmum, or email me through my blog JuggleMum.
