What are your fond memories of holidays in Great Britain? Do you recreate the memorable moments you had as kids with our own children? Do you have to work harder to create unforgettable holidays, or do simple pleasures still win through?
We asked some top family travel bloggers, along with our sponsor Visit England, to share their version of the great British holiday and how they create an unforgettable British family getaway. Discover your next family holiday at Visit England’s Home of Amazing site.
Here’s what top family bloggers revealed:
1. The great British seaside provides a unique experience
Cathy at Mummy Travels shared a lyrical love letter that reminds us all why we do love to be beside the British seaside. We we were immediately transported back to our own memories of childhood and also how we can celebrate new attractions by the sea.

2. There’s much to explore without flying away
Elizabeth from the Wander Mum blog gave us the wake-up call that you don’t need to jet off to exotic locations to have fun as a family when Great Britain has so much to offer. She celebrated all the free things you can do that will create precious family memories.

3. There are bewitching landscapes & magical tales to be had
With eye-catching pictures on her Podcast blog, Charly highlighted just how much just one county can offer. We are talking white witches, highwaymen, ghosts and dragons! If you love folklore and legend, every Great British county has so much to give.

4. Camping holds its own appeal (even for reluctant campers!)
British camping has its advocates and Helen from Actually Mummy is now wondering why it took her so long to take the family. Well-traveled Helen regrets not returning to the good old-fashioned camping trip in Great Britain sooner. She encourages us to carry on camping even as we get older, with suggestions on how to love camping. Hint, it includes pizza ovens, giant games of Jenga, treehouses, yurts and festivals. When did you last get the tent out?

5. Revisiting childhood holidays creates special new memories
Kara’s Chelsea Mamma post recalled precious time spent with the extended family members. From the cute New Forest ponies to the Bournemouth Air Show, we wanted to get in the car and explore the joys of Dorset and Hampshire straightaway.

6. You can experience tranquil wildlife getaways
Gretta at Mums Do Travel gave us a rich menu of things to do in the Isles of Scilly. In place of kids’ clubs and whizz-bang attractions it has excellent accommodation, great food, white sandy beaches, uninhabited islands and gorgeous scenery. Plus, we love the idea of swimming with a seal!

There is so much to explore in UK, anytime we visit countryside or seaside I'm blown away by the scenery. That said, sometimes cost of visiting some of these spots is prohibitive and I guess with the weather factor that's why some would rather hop on a plane. Definitely looking forward to discovering more of Britain over the coming period, really is a stunning country :-)
