Happy half term everyone. There’s something about the first half term of the year that has me whipping my notebook out and making those all important plans for 2019. Now January is out of the way, there’s everything to look forward to. Spring is on it’s way (well, that’s what I keep telling myself now that I’ve seen a bucket load of snowdrops sprouting), and before you know it, the holidays will be here. Yas!
Dreamy travel bucket lists
It looks like Clare from Mudpie Fridays is dreaming about far off adventures for 2019, like us, in her newly added-to travel bucket list for this year. Whilst many of us may be waiting quite awhile before we can tick off an actual visit to Peru or Singapore, it doesn’t hurt to add it to a bucket list for the future and a bit of inspiration.
If you’ve no idea where to start, Clare from Suitcases and Sandcastles has a whole year of family holiday destinations to inspire you. And Claire from Tin Box Traveller has even got things penciled in already in her 2019 travel plans.
As a parent, I think we can often be overwhelmed with feelings of guilt when we do something just for ourselves. Because naturally, we gravitate to our little ones, putting them first and often letting our whole worlds revolve around them. But, as Jen from the The Mad House says, it’s important to set up healthy habits to benefit the whole family. And that could include taking a little break all for yourself. You don’t have to go far, or for long to find something beautiful like a weekend away at Brompton Lakes to recharge your batteries and pop that smile back on your face.
I always find that happiness is there for the taking by the bucket full when it comes to making the most of the little things with our families. Happy adventures come in all shapes and sizes, as Claire from The Ladybirds’ Adventures shares in her 12 Family Adventures plan for the year. It’s something that we can all join in with, so do check out the hashtag #12FamilyAdventures if you want to join in the fun.
Milestone birthday bucket lists
But it’s not just all about the travel plans. BritMums bloggers have been inspiring many of us with milestone birthdays heading our way (gulp!). Donna from What the Redhead Said has a brilliant 40 before I’m 40 bucket list on the go, and it’s been so lovely to see how well she’s been getting on. Because happiness is definitely doing something that give you long term confidence, and of course conquering fears we may have, big or small.
Thank you for joining us for the BritMums Happiness Round-up this month. Don’t forget to stop by and have a read, leave a comment or just say hello to these brilliant bloggers who bring all the smiles.
I love reading your happy posts and would welcome bloggers of all levels to share their posts for consideration for this round up. You are also more than welcome to stop by the Buttons blog for our #DreamTeam linky which runs every Tuesday to Thursday.
See you next time x
