Dr Elizabeth Kilbey
Most parents agree: They want their children to have a good understanding of money and how to save and spend it – sometimes better than parents have had themselves.
Join us on Thurs 13 December at 10am along with clinical child psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Kilbey to get advice and trade experiences on how to teach children about money – how they can learn to value it and develop responsible money habits for the future.
The Hangout is sponsored by PKTMNY, a new website that provides a unique way for parents and children to manage and learn about money together. PKTMNY lets parents dispense pocket money online and is a great way for children to save and manage their pocket money. BritMums has worked with PKTMNY and bloggers to test the new site and give feedback.
We’re also featuring the #pktmnyparents Linky, about the things your child would like to buy (either realistic or fantastic). Take part here <LINK>
Taking part in the #pktmnyparents Hangout is easy! Here’s how:
- Follow www.google.com/+BritMums (you have to follow us first so we can follow you back) and PKTMNY on G+
- On Thursday 13 December at 10am, come to the BritMums G+ page and you’ll see the hangout. (It’s initiated by Scott Howze, the mystery man behind the BritMums page and necessitated by Google rules on pages – he’s a stand-in for co-founders Susanna Scott and Jennifer Howze.)
- If you aren’t among the first 8 attendees, you’ll still be able to watch the hangout live on the BritMums Google+ page and post comments
- Can’t make that time? Of course we’d like to see everyone there, but if you can’t join live, you can also watch the video on the BritMums blog after we post it there.
