Good Reads January 2014

Golly the year has got off at a pace! I’m already cruising towards February and feeling every bit as cold and damp as the weather. I do hope that Christmas brought you all your heart desired. At the very least I hope you and your sanity survived in a better state than our car, which is currently in and out of the garage [insert inappropriate joke here].

Ho hum. On with the show. If you aren’t following Team Honk  (and if not, GET ON IT!), or their exploits have worn you into a state of shock and you need a cup of tea and five minutes to recover a) I entirely understand and b) take a load off, keep the tissues handy (there’s always at least one post that’ll have your eyes watering) and enjoy the calorie-free feast of internet wonderment I have for you:

• The oft-hilarious Northern Mum writes more on being a warrior against Diabetes. Follow their journey.
• Huffington Post picked up on  Sports Direct selling a cleaning kit “for girls”.
• Betty Herbert, author of 52 Seductions, asks can you keep mum? via Not from Lapland
• Mummy From the Heart got fellow bloggers to answer the question What Makes a Good Marriage?
• With the Great British Bake Off for Sport Relief on at the moment it seemed a great time for former contestant Holly Bell to share her Cherry Bakewell  cupcakes.
• Mammasaurus shared her thoughts on the Gap “Flirt” bodysuit.
• Brain Pickings had me in stitches with some of the funniest Amazon Product Reviews
• Sorrelish tells us why we should stop bitching about Benefits.
• Domestic Goddesque makes Candy Cane horses for Chinese New Year.
