Dads Round-Up: Food, food glorious food!

Dads Round-Up: Food, food glorious food!

Dads holding hands roundup 610‘Food, food, glorious food! What is there more handsome, gulped, swallowed or chewed?’ So the song asks.

Stop sniggering at the back. It’s you isn’t it? It’s always you with the smutty mind. See me after class.

Anyway, as I was about to say. Food eh? Lovely stuff.

Food isn’t always merely something to shovel into your tummy via your mouth hole. Of course sometimes we have to do this, eat on the run, grab something quick and convenient to keep energy levels up, especially as parents or while we’re working, but good food is good for your mood. I read that once and it’s true. You try going a day without it. It’s a right bummer. Especially on Christmas Day.

Good food, cooking good food with great ingredients, cooking good food for friends, for family, or WITH friends and family, that’s the true meaning of good mood food and it’s something I love doing for friends, family and with my children. So, with this in mind, this month’s round-up features some blogs by dads who love to cook.

Hopefully these blogs and the love of food which shines through in their writing will inspire you, tickle your taste buds, and get you off doing interesting things in the kitchen.

So please take a look at these blogs by some kitchen gods. Okay, so they might not be much to look at, some have faces which have been known to turn milk sour but their food looks scrummy. And someone once told me we eat with our eyes too, in which case I’m very very very hungry.

And once again, thanks for reading.

About Spencer

@ADadCalledSpen - I'm not a writer or a journalist, just proud to be a dad to two amazing children. I blog at Dad and Proud and talk about parenting, divorce, mental health and Life. Frequently at the same time. My favourite colour is yellow and I find moths a bit creepy.

That's such a great initiative! The Good Stuff 4 Kids is our preferred blog. We love the idea that dads can cook!

Loving the idea that Keith's a kitchen god! Going to have to add a new entry in "Deities & Demigods" for this one! To be fair, though, his is one of the first blogs I go to for inspiration food-wise. That and @TheCurryGuy's http://www.greatcurryrecipes.net/
